I’ve been studying for almost a month now and I let myself get trapped into expanding the remaining lessons from CPAExcel. I just found out that I have 181 sections to go before my exam on Nov 27.

How is that possible?

I’m studying the same procedurally and time wise as all the other parts but I seem to be getting absolutely nowhere.

What am I doing wrong here?

I am actually right there with you!! I am studying for FAR with CPAExcel…and I take the test Nov. 25th. I have been studying since about Sept though. But I am not really following their course manager. I already watched most of the lectures once…and this past week (and some of last week), I have started watching them all AGAIN! I am right now at the Bonds section…and I know what you mean by expanding the remaining sections cuz it is depressing! And the older man puts me to sleep…sorry but it's true…I am dreading the section on Consolidations/Intercompany coming up cuz I know he will be teaching it. Anyway, just keep it up! Keep plugging away. We will pass this!! 🙂

I really am at a loss as to what to do.

I could reschedule to February but that's taking an opportunity to pass away and eliminates 1 of my 4 remaining windows. It also keeps me from gleaning experience taking the test and getting a feel for what I am facing.

I have the Ninja notes and the Wiley book. Given my time restraints, it might be worth stopping trying to take the notes from CPAExcel and focus on the CPAExcel and Wiley MCQ's and use the NINJA notes as my notes source.

I just don't know what to do at this point.

No you can do this!! You have a month and you are further along than you think. You are just in a rut cuz it's soo much. Do you want to be study buddies or something? Since we are taking the same test at around the same time, we can try to form a schedule and make sure to hold one another accountable and stick to it!!

I'm really looking at it from a truly functional perspective in that there is not enough time to continue as is. I need to adjust in some manner as I do not have enough hours between today and Nov 27th to get through the information.

I'm thinking that I might just go with the Wiley MCQ's and CPAExcel MCQ's with Ninja notes. It's the only thing I can see that will provide me with enough time to get through the material at least once.

I'm down for study buddy as well. I take FAR 11/28. I'm using Roger & have gone through 3/8 of the lecture modules (or whatever they're called) so far. Once Halloween festivities have passed, I will be going into overdrive.
