Is it too late to join the FAR study group? I was scheduled to take FAR October 19th, but am delaying until the end of November. This is my first post to another71.com, but I read through all of your comments on a regular basis (ok, pretty much on a daily basis) and find you all to be very inspirational. Thanks!

Finished F10 lectures today. What do you all recommend as the best way to review? My exam is October 23rd, so I think I am good on time. I plan to do a progress test daily, and devote my free days to reviewing each chapter (especially simulations and journal entries). What do you think?

You got a lot of review time, I thought i had a lot with about 20 days of review haha. I plan on finishing F9 this weekend and 10 next week. Then pretty much drill MCQ till I cant stand it anymore, practice the sims, read my notes and go over weak areas.

Alright everyone i need you advice. My test is next Saturday. I am finishing up going thru the MC for the 2nd time. This will be done by tomm AM. I start my job this Monday so I am going to only be able to study 4? hours a day next week. I am using Becker so what is the best and most efficient way to utilize my time. I am for sure going to go thru all the flash cards again but should i do the chapter MC over again or should I just do progress test and then on thursday and friday do the practice exams? Any advice would be most appreciated.

@proach33 – second time!!! I am now only on F4, and will be done with it today. I have 6 chapters left and only 4 days left.. Have you done SIM's? I havent touched them … 🙁 Did you take the final exams?

I took the 1st Becker Final Exam last night (I take FAR on Monday) and I scored 66% average on MCQs and completely bombed the sims. 4.5 hours of answering questions is brain-draining. I will need a miracle to pass FAR. Please CPA gods, let me pass. I dont want to restudy for FAR ever again especially taking into account that I start work with EY in a week.

@futuremdcpa. Yes i have done the sims twice. Literally I study all day long. But im not sure how to tackle next week. I have not taken practice test yet. I dont know if I should focus on comprehensive progress test and then do the practice exams or skip the comprehensive and just try to get thru as many chapters as i can.

FAR is my last test, shooting to schedule it for early-mid November. I'm currently 100 study hours in (which unfortunately is spread out from late July until now, so we'll see what I REMEMBER :/) and have 4 more chapters to do in Becker. And am currently parked at Procrastination Station and can't seem to get out of it.

I am just finishing up a 10 hour day of F5 of Becker.. leases and bonds YUCK!! It takes so dang long to do this problems and to read and study the answers.

I take my FAR exam on November 5th and to date I have completed F1, F2,F3, F4, F5, F8, and F9 lectures, MC's and SIMS.. Tommorow I am starting on F6….those lovely pensions. I have five full weeks and four weekends to complete the remaining chapters. Full steam ahead!!

@TaxThreat: It is so hard to say how you'll do on the exam! For REG I ended up with 50-55% on both practice exams…and then I passed. Miraculously. I'd focus more on the questions you got wrong in the practice exams.

@candothis: You're using Becker, right? I have a question about question 33 on Accounting for leases. It's the one that starts with, “Main, a pharmaceutical company, leased office space from Ash.” I see how the $240,300 was calculated but don't really get why it's doing that and how this relates to deferred lease expense.
