stokey if you have the NINJA notes I would rewrite them. I found that after I watched all the lectures from Roger CPA that I learn best if I find the corresponding section in the NINJA notes for a specific chapter (Roger also uses the Wiley book so similiar to Yaeger) rewrite the notes and then work the questions for that chapter. Kind of gives me a base again for the problems instead of jumping into them blind.

Thanks, that is about what I did. I went back and re-read my notes and made an additional flash card or two for some “nuggets of information” and I did better. My struggles were asking myself the questions…… Which section does this belong and does it have an inverse or direct relationship? I would have to stop and really wrap my mind around it before I could answer the questions.

    Thanks again.

Governmental just owned me when doing the MCQs on the Wiley testbank. Looks like I will be rereading that chapter in the Roger book and rewriting the NINJAs on that one ugh! HiYa!

Talk about a confidence killer. I've been doing a bunch of 200 question progress tests in Becker, scoring consistently in the mid/upper 80s. I just finished the first Becker final exam and I scored a combined 64, by weighting 60/40 MCQ to SIMS. I finished it in 2 hours so I probably need to slow down and think through the questions.

I'm taking FAR on Nov 19. Oddly enough, I understand Govt and NFP and have done pretty well on the MCQ's. The parts that aren't sticking in my brain are Leases and Pensions. My brain basically just shuts down on those topics.

    AUD- 4/12- 82
REG- 7/12- 81 Did they even grade my SIMS?
    BEC- 8/12- 76
    FAR- 11/19/12- 82!!!!

LO – I am the opposite! Leases and Pensions are super for me, but Govt and NFP is THE WORST. Ugh…

Halfway done with Roger videos… I slowed down a lot since beginning Oct 3, but now going to try and finish the second half of videos by end of next week. Then rewrite all notes, MCQ, Sims. 29 days til I sit.

    AUD: 84

Best wishes to everyone taking the exam in this window!!

I decided to bow out of this testing window and rescheduled for January. I just am not scoring high enough to have any sort of confidence walking into the exam and I'd prefer to absorb more of the info in the long-run versus cramming in considering I'm not on a time crunch.

Good luck everyone and keep plugging away and you will definitely pass!!

Exam is tomorrow morning. Leaving work a little early today and going home to hit my weak areas and get to bed early (exam starts at 7:30AM). Weak areas are NFP & Stockholders' equity (treasury stock especially). Just hoping for the best.

FAR is completely overwhelming for me. I feel like some of the previous posters. I cant/havent retained the information that I learned from the previous chapters. I am using becker 2011 and just about to finish up chapter 7 of 9. This is too much information!!! I just hope i have enough time to finish the last chapters and do a detailed review.

Ok. So, I am taking FAR this Saturday. I am having the worst trouble just staying on task and studying. I am doing Becker. I have a good grasp on the concepts – just the MCQ can be so tricky. I need to go back through pensions and government accounting – the general principles. NFP is ok. Any words of wisdom for my studying tomorrow? I am only going to study 1/2 the day… then rest before my test.

I think I am going to have to push my exam to January. While reading the text and watching the lecture I think I understand the material, but when I do the MCQS and Sims, I am only scoring in the high 60s. Everyone talks about Governmental and NFP being brutal, but I am looking forward to those sections as those are the entities I work with at my job. For those of you using a review course other than Gleim, how many MCQS do you do after each lesson? Gleim has 20 lessons and we are to do 80 MCQS per section, plus 30 TF questions, and then 6 Sims. I just wanted to know how this course compares to other courses. Thanks.

    REG - 64, 72, 81!
    FAR - 77
    AUD - 79
    BEC - 72, 79! And Done!

Becker for financial has 10 sections with the last sections being a variety of things like partnerships, hedging, derivatives… The lectures are about 3.5 to 4 hours each section. The MQ are just different for each section. No TF tho. I hear becker's simulations are cake compared to the test. I take it tomorrow at 12:30pm – hopefully I'll get the test for dummies!

    FAR - Passed 77 (November 2012)
    BEC - Passed 83 (February 2013)
    AUD - Passed 87 (April 2013)
    REG - Passed 89 (July 2013)
