    Oh thanks! I did see that earlier in the thread, but that was before I watched the videos. Now it makes much more sense.

    Hi Everyone!! Im not working now, so now I have no excuse to do this.

    I have done a Class before, and didn't pass. Would be great to study with someone here in the DC area, just because I dont think I can just self study-Its so boring even to do some reading! Any tips?Im new to this so I want to set up a study plan, What should I do first?

    @CristinaVA

    WELCOME! Jeff has a study plan that can help you. I highly recommend getting the Ninja Notes. Instead of reading the chapters, I read these. Between his notes, the one you should take during video lectures and the notes you take through MCQ, I haven't found a need to read the text, unless there is a specific area you struggle with. What review material will you use? I assume you plan to take FAR first?

    Retaking FAR on 11/26 with AUD expiring on 11/30 :-/ I can't get back into studying and it sucks because it's my last part and if I don't pass I'll lose one. Thinking of doing the one day final review by Becker – has anyone done it and found it useful? It's pretty pricey so I want to make sure it's worth it.

    AUD 6/24/11- 76
    BEC 11/23/11 - 79
    FAR 11/26/12 - 76
    REG 1/14/12 - 82

    My situation is the same. FAR scheduled for 11/1 and BEC expires 11/3. I would like to be done! I wish you the same!

    @DatFutureCPA

    Same here, haha. I'm going to take the second practice final exam tomorrow. I've studied so much, I feel like I need to take the exam before I start forgetting stuff.

    I have not even practiced the research questions yet.. What did you guys do to study for those?

    I wanted to share a tip that I recently learned from Ninja notes. I started using it and it really helps. I have been using Becker and have been highlighting things as I went through the lectures. I recently purchased Ninja Notes and one of the tips to improve retention of information was to re-write notes. I have been doing the final review and instead of just re-reading, I re-write my notes. It takes time, but it is so much more effective. I score a lot higher after re-writing notes for each chapter. I don't re-write everything, just main points as Jeff puts it “fact nuggets.” I do it by hand instead of typing. Thank you, Jeff.

    @xwingdingx – don't stop now! I would give anything to have 3 passing scores behind me. I haven't done the Becker final review. But if you are feeling burnt out with over a month before you FINAL exam, do it. Mixing it up will probably be very beneficial. That passing score will be well worth the cost. I'd rather buy supplemental study material to keep me focused than have to pay for 2 more exams… and all that time studying again. Good Luck! I sit on 11/26 too. It's going to be a great day for future CPAs 🙂

    @CPAGrace I agree 100% rewriting notes has really assisted in my retention. I actually started typing them this time, so I can easily combine Jeff's Ninja notes with my personal notes taken from videos. And as I work through MCQs and SIMS I can continue to add the fact nuggets. Once complete I may rewrite those by hand while pretending to work at the office 🙂

    I just started watching videos at a playback speed of 1.3 and it is AMAZING. I had budgeted about 15 hours of study time on Saturday, and I got through everything in 12.5. I really think it's due to the faster speed and using the Pomodoro study technique.

    @DatFutureCPA I just wrapped up Bonds, Leases, and Pensions Keep it up! And let us know if you have any dirty secrets to destroying them, hiya!

    I am losing some of my momentum. I have been very busy at work for the past month or so and have stuck with my plan of studying early morning and again at the library after work for another 2 hours. Sometimes I was so tired that it took longer than it would have otherwise but I still stuck to the plan. Honestly, I am feeling burnt right now.

    I am taking a few days off of work and hopefully I will feel rested and more focused on the study material. I can only hope. I need my drive back!!

    Hello Everyone,

    Time check: 3:47 am, Los Angeles. I did my final review for Deferred taxes, did a lot of Research questions, and I am currently working on Stockholders Equity. Do you guys have any suggestion on how to differentiate the Basic EPS and Diluted EPS in a more humanly words as possible?

    Thank you all.
