    @audiox

    I have found it is hard to sit down and review because I dont have a structure since I finished the lecture/homework for all chapters. I am too doing about 120 Progress Test questions a day, and have been doing really well but I still seem like I'm slacking.

    Im going to try to go through a chapter a day now (look through book, re-write notes, do MCQ, sims and study notes).

    Hi All,

    I am also planning to sit for FAR exam in late November. I retook BEC 10/3 since I failed on 10/31 because, stupid me!!!, I used 2009 material to study. I just hope I passed it so I do not have to sit for it again. Now back to study for FAR. Do you think I will have enough time to complete FAR study by the end of November? Best of luck to everyone!!!

    Using: 2011 Wiley CD, 2011 Ninja Notes and 2011 Becker book and updates on line. Do you think I will need additional materials? Any ideas on a study plan?

    A-66, Thank God it's a 78;

    Man – you guys seem really prepared,

    I am just starting on leases tonight. It seems like I am thinking of any reason not to study.

    One reason I came up tonight is that I like Peter Olinto more than Tim Gearty. And leases are taught by Tim.

    I don't know how closely Yaeger follows Becker, but I'm on the last part of F5 and into F6 today, which is Monetary Current Assets and Liabilities. My goal is to have all the videos and note taking complete before the end of this month and to spend all of November doing MCQs and SIMs. This is my 1st time taking FAR, so for those experienced FAR takers out there, is one month of non-stop problems enough time you think?

    I'm also following Jeff”s NINJA method of not working any problems until after i “N”ail all the videos and make my “I”ntense notes 🙂 I like Yaegar because Cindy does a LOT of MCQs and SIMs during the videos.

    @stokey45: About your second multiple choice question-I'm still pretty shaky on this part too, but I hope I can help. (We seem to be on a similar study schedule!) The issue is that the note's stated rate is 8%, but for King it will yield 9%.

    We found the annual payment to be $5,010, and this was found by discounting back from the $20,000, which is a future value of the note. We have to figure out how much we will earn in 5 years using the 9% instead, so we can figure out the carrying value of the note, which I think is how the formula $5,010 x 3.890 came about.

    Hello everyone!

    I'm new to the forum / another71 and thought I'd give something DIFFERENT a try since I'm taking FAR for the 2nd time 11/3… I am taking Becker, should I just start over with the program from the beginning? I'm also ordering the NINJA notes and Audio in hopes that those will get me over the finish line. Any pointers are welcomed.

    I work best studying in groups, so anyone looking for accountibility just let me know.

    @MsCPA544 – I sent in request for transcripts to be sent to the CA state board on Sept 5th, state board cashed my check around the 18th, and school sent the transcripts on the 20th. I was approved on the 3rd! So it took around 10 or so days to be approved. I was thinking it'd take until end of Oct at the soonest. Almost fainted when I saw the email from them.

    I'm studying for FAR as well now. Began a week ago. Planning to sit Nov 9 so I can go to Europe for a week for my birthday, then come back and start the last three. No work, study 7-8 hours a day, off Sat & Sun (to party, unless I don't party one of the days, then it'll be study time, woo!) Using Roger/Wiley.

    Well, lunch break is almost done! Back to Cost & Equity Method, gag.

    Yesterday/Today I have been writing out all the Journal Entries from the Becker book.

    I think I'm going to take the first Becker practice exam tomorrow, and then target my areas of review based on that.

    Took a practice test and made a 76. Still room tons of room for improvement before my test on the 20th!

    If its not too late, I'd like to join! I desperately need some sort of study group. I plan to sit for FAR at the end of November. Or submitted and paid my eligibility app. Waiting to get the okay to pay and schedule.

    I'm using Gleim. I had Becker, but I prefer Gleim materials. We'll see how this goes.
