Path To CPAMemberDon't be intimidated and keep your eyes on the final prize. If you pass FAR you be able to say the magic phrase: I am done!!!. This is what I think about to keep me motivated. Just scan through the lecture one time to have a feel and the second time, try to understand and apply what you've learned. It works for me but maybe not for everyone. Try to find your best study technique.
I love listening to the lecture videos from Becker and I never took a single note for any of my exams. For FAR, I might have to because of the formulas and many accounting rules. The lectures keep me motivated because Peter Olinto and Tim Gearty are always trying hard to be funny and it makes me laugh and keep me awake. Just make sure you finish all the reading and listening at least 3 weeks before the exam. And during these 3 weeks, master the multiple choices questions until you dream about them. And practice the sims until you feel like a bookkeeper at work. Do countless progress test and go on cpareviewforfree.com to check your readiness. If you have Wiley test bank like me, use it to the max too. Take the 5 questions sample test on AICPA website and look for and practice the 2012 AICPA released questions. After you've done all of that, FAR will fear you on exam date.
Most importantly, keep your motivation high and do not find excuse not to study. Just think about how blessed and lucky we were with BEC and you'll always stay focused.
I hope this will generate some inspiration. Keep up the hard work and let's keep our group alive.

ihatestudyingParticipant@path. Thanks for the advice. Your right. I wanna say “I'm done”.
I don't have lectures. Just exam matrix which is mcq's and sims. And ninja notes. Worked for the last 3. But far I'm not sure yet. I may end up needing some video lectures. I need to take deep breathes. Lol

to_be_a_CPAParticipantI haven't mapped out my plan of FAR attack yet. But I am for sure going to start studying tomorrow evening. Hopefully this is my last section so I am super motivated to pass this in November. I also have to get the Ninja notes. The parts I passed I used Ninja notes to supplement so I am going to keep with the superstition!!!

KeelyMemberCount me in for this. I wanted to take FAR in October, but I just started a new job and I'd rather take it once and pass than cram it in quickly and be facing it again with busy season approaching. Good luck to all of us!!!!

ShereeMemberCount me in! I am schedule for October 15, my 2nd battle with FAR. I skip the lectures this time, and went straight to Ninja notes, And Wiley testbank.
Time flies fast and I just finish rewriting the ninja notes. Today I will start with the Wiley testbank. I cant wait to pass this subject and not look back at it again.

AnonymousInactiveCount me in fellow FARers! (is that even a word .. .)
Started my restudy this week. /sniff I have never logged my actual study hours before, but decided to start doing it this time around.
My plan: 1. Rewrite notes I gleaned from Yeager and do suggested MCP's 2. Ordered Roger's CRAM and will try for the first time. 3. Rewrite Ninja notes & do Wiley Testbank MCP's .. and then some more.
I have a shiny new NTS and plan to schedule for mid to late October.

AnonymousInactive@ihatestudying Well, yes both. I failed FAR, so I'm probably not the best person to give advice. My experience was that I was comfortable with every subject but I didn't know it well enough to calculate quickly or find the “trick” of the question every time. I did not encounter anything that I had not seen before in the study materials, so overall there was no real surprises. Also, I was pushed for time on the SIMs which tells me I didn't know the material well enough to get through it quickly.
At this point repetition is my strategy. Which is why I got the Roger CRAM. Just one more way to be exposed to the material. From what I understand the Roger CRAM is not all inclusive and definitely will not cover everything on the exam, but instead reinforces important areas that are known to be tested.
