Does anyone have things they do each test day, or wear, or routines before the exam because you passed? For FAR i woke up early did one last round of MCQs, walked around my apartment and talked myself through key topics, had lunch and a red bull, relaxed for a while, put on my lucky vegas shirt, and drove to prometric jamming the whole way.

Also, does anyone have an addiction to energy drinks? I feel monster and red bull can attribute a decent portion of their sales to my CPA misery.

What really makes me sad… Is that my Becker review expired and is the 2011 Ed. So not only I have to repay for the freaking test… I have to buy the review. I don't think I will extend my Becker; I'll just buy the 2013 Ed. and study with the new material. Fcuk!!!!!!!

    I'll kick you BEC!!!!

Jokami, I was told by a Becker rep that you get 50% discount as a return student if your software expires. My 2011 also expired a few days ago, just after my AUD exam Dec. 5 (waiting for results next week). However, I have to retake REG – which I plan on taking the 50% discount on the 2013 REG Becker software.

My routine, as I take a morning exam, is to forgo any studying/reviewing, and simply focus on waking myself up and getting comfortable.

I have the most amazing fortune of having a testing center not 5 minutes from my home, and thus I have the luxury of sleeping in a little. After that, I have had a store-bought Frappuccino before each exam as I find it to be the right balance of sugar, and caffeine (I rarely do energy drinks, and in college when I did them before my exams I found they added to the nerves by making me jittery!). I eat a light breakfast, and I'm off!

    1. Always take the exam in the same testing place – everytime I failed I was taking the exam somewhere else (why didn't I learn my lesson?)

    2. Always schedule the test for the afternoon and show up early – like 9 and take it then. Prometric always let me take the exam before my schedule time.

    3. Never push the exam back – for some weird reason I start forgettig the things I learned

    3. Try to drink as much as possible after the test to avoid the “Oh, I should have answered that one differently” statements, this is how depression starts.

    1. I wore flip flops or flats that I could take off if I wanted (I even work flip flops in the dead of winter for one test)

    2. Straightened my hair. Can not take a test with curly hair.

    3. Chewed gum during the test

    4. Popped some tums before the exam and on my break

    5. Wore the same necklace, the pendenat means believe, and white pearl earrings.

    6. Retail therapy after the exam followed by wine. 🙂

I opened up a brand new red shirt on test day, on my very first test. Well technically, the night before because I wore it after I showered, but I have a red shirt specifically for the test as a sign of good luck. I wore the same red shirt and same outfit to each test.

I'm in a non-NASBA state so scores almost always come out the day after NASBA releases the scores. The night before scores were coming out, I put on another red shirt for good luck. On my last exam (BEC), I was on the bubble so I had to wait a few extra days before my scores were released. I wore a red shirt for 3 straight days (different shirts), and on the third day, I ended up wearing the same red shirt I wear when I take the test.

I passed on all my tests on my first try. With the scores I got, I definitely feel I got lucky. The shirt is now officially retired.

For all my passes I wore red GAP sweatpants that I bought about 10 years ago. But I think I had 1 fail in them too, can't recall. Either way I'm wearing them again next Wednesday. No red shirt because I would look like Elmo 🙂

    LOL Tina!

I have stuck with my wearing tightie-whities and an ARMY shirt my brother gave me (with red dirt stains from Hawaiian mud).

    2 for 2 so far!

I have retired the bad luck red panties of 2012, lol.

Haha this post is pretty funny! I didn't know about the red panties deal!

For FAR, the third time I took it (and passed) was at a different testing center than the first two times so I have scheduled all if my other tests there too! Except for my first AUD attempt I took at the same place I failed FAR twice…. Should've known better! Still waiting on my AUD wave 1 score (snail mail slowest state on earth)- but I'm hoping for 75+!! I also wore the same zip up jacket that was a bday present from my boyfriend and the same yoga pants to AUD that I passed FAR in!!! Here's to hoping it worked!

I also don't study later than 9pm the night before and get in bed early! The morning of I eat a banana and granola bar in the car while reviewing my ninja notes one last time… Highlighting (sorry Jeff) the things I need that extra last minute boost on. Before I leave my car I write a little motivational note to myself on the front cover of my ninja notes! I bring in a water bottle and a bottle of tylonel to the test and run out of the testing room (they don't require checking out for this either) after the MC before the SIMs and gulp down some water and take the tylonel (those darn headphones give me a headache!) I don't think ill do this in BEC or REG though since they are only 3 hours.

Good thread! Fun to see what people do 🙂

    FAR: PASSED!! 64, 68, 79 on 2/27/13!
    AUD: PASSED!! 73, 93 on 4/5/13!!!
BEC: PASSED!! 75 (phew) on 5/24/13!
REG: PASSED!!! 77 on 8/7/13 I AM DONE!!!!!

    Experience: got it!
Ethics Exam: PASSED on first try (what a waste of money)
