I am taking FAR on 2/24/12 and i am currently studying with Becker.

I work full time: usually 830am-6pm. I currently have read through chapter 5 and have down chapters 1,2,3 multiple choice.

Does anyone have any recommendations on how to best use my time going forward?

I would greatly appreciate your help!!!

Go through everything at least once. Hit heavy on bonds, govt, NFP.

Pensions are tricky and time consuming and considering your schedule you may want to go easy on them.

While I'm sure we disagree on oh so many things, I'm going to have to agree with JamesBlunt on this one…pretty sound advice, actually. Pensions are tricky, but like he said, don't kill yourself or your study budget trying to learn it down to every little detail. Also, like he said, spend on a lot of time on NFP and Governmental; they tend to be more difficult because of their inherently counter-intuitive nature. Best of luck to you.

Also concentrate on leases, statement of cash flow (both direct and indirect), and EPS. Along with what james said (btw I love your picture lol), these are your major topics, so if you're limited on time, do those first, and then work on the other minor sections. And if you haven't done Ch. 4 MCQ yet, focus on inventory valuation (eg. FIFO, LIFO, periodic, perpetual, etc.).

    BEC - 67, 79 - (expires 5/24)
    REG - 74, 72, 77 - Key to Passing: RTFQ
FAR - 77 - Chance favors the prepared mind.
    AUD - 64, (5/14) - FREEDOM!! (i hope)

I took my first one on 7/31/11. I got a 71. I put in a total of about 50 hours studying.

I took my second one early January. I forget the exact day. I studied a total of 3 hours and got a 77.

In addition to what others have said about governmental/nfp being counter-intuitive, I would also suggest construction accounting since it has its own quirks.

Also journal entries, journal entries, journal entries. Know them for as many different situations as possible.

    Thanks guys for your comments.

@rbaker – fortunately in my profession i get exposure to AIA contracts and the different construction accounting methods.
