    Hey everyone,

I am using the NINJA method and just finished the FAR Yaeger videos yesterday. However as I go through multiple choice, I am getting a lot wrong. It seems more of the complex questions such as bonds and stockholder equity calculations are more advanced and in depth and its taking me a little extra time to go through the answer and question. For any of you NINJA veterans, is this normal or should I be worried. My test isn’t until February 25th. Any feedback is appreciated. Thanks!

A lot of the computational type questions gave me a hard time as well and brought down my confidence. Then I realized that the multiple choice questions primary purpose is not to test my knowledge, but to teach me how to do the multiple choice. What really helped me is I printed out a lot of the computational problems so I could go through them fairly quickly and OFTEN. I started to look at the computational problems as math problems that need to be reworked multiple times. I would do the hard conceptual problems a couple times to learn it, but ended up doing some of the computational problems 4 or 5 times to get it down(and not on the same day). Having a binder during the last two weeks of my review with all of the hard computational problems was a great resource.

I spoke to an ancient wise man who sent me on a mushroom induced journey through an ancient forest to find the key to passing the CPA exam. A talking spider monkey told me to throw the last of my drinking water in the dirt to find what I was looking for. So I followed his instructions and the following message appeared in the soil:

"Do 5000 multiple choice questions for each section"

Bonds and SE were the worst for me as well!! I thought I would never get them….despite my almost perfect GPA….so no worries! Take your time – TAKE NOTES! Learn the JEs and keep practicing! After a while it will seem to be a piece of cake!

    FAR: 81 (May 2013)
    BEC: 81 (July 2013)
    REG: 83 (August 2013)
    AUD: 82 (November 2013)
    California CPA since 1/30/14

Thanks for the suggestions! Study Monk, that sounds like a great idea. I for sure will mimic your strategy, it seems like a really great way to pick up on this quickly. I took 55 pages of good notes while watching the lectures and I make sure I take notes on what I don't understand on questions I get wrong. Hopefully things will start to click!

I also struggled with SE & Bonds the most. Leases were kind of annoying too. It gets really frustrating when you go through the multiple choice for those subjects and get more wrong than right. I tried to learn them as much as I can, but from what I remember from my first 2 attempts at FAR, the questions on the exam are quite simpler than what's in the WTB.

@study monk, since u took the exam recently, did you feel like they were testing the general concept more than the actual details/exceptions in Wiley? I like Wiley but for some of their questions i'm just like WTF.

    AUD: 84
    FAR: 75
    BEC: 78
    REG: 75

    DONE-ZO!!!!!!!!

REG: Used Becker 2014 book, NINJA MCQ, Ninja notes, ninja audio
