Ok, passed AUD in October, took reg today. We shall see how that goes but for now, I have an NTS for BEC and FAR enroute, forget about reg either way. My assurance season begins the last week of January, 2015; leaving pretty much 8 weeks from the time I start studying this Monday, 12/1 until The Sunday before I hit the road. My question is, using Becker, with exactly 8 weeks; which part(s) would you recommend taking before the season begins? I see that FAR is 10 chapters(!) and BEC is 6 so naturally I am inclined to say BEC keeping in mind there are holidays and appx. 10 overnight planning trips in there. Ugh, your thoughts please…?

I'd go with BEC then FAR. Schedule BEC sometime in early January, then FAR at toward the end of your NTS. Knock BEC out now while things are slow during the holidays, do what you can for FAR during your busy season, then focus once work begins to wrap up around the end of March. Still gives you a couple months to do what you need to make sure you are prepared for FAR.

It really depends on how many hours you can study, not necessarily how many weeks. The trips could be good study time assuming you're going to be in a hotel by yourself at night. If you're going to work until 10 every night and then go back to the hotel then count those days out. I'm not in public so I have no idea how much time you have during planning to study, but you could do FAR if you have 150-200 hours to study between now and the end of January. If not, go with BEC. You can definitely fit BEC in during that time. I hesitate to leave FAR to last so you don't get burnt out before studying for it, but it seems like you're knocking them out pretty quickly so burn out may not be a problem for you.
