So I’m in an accelerated review course in which we’re supposed to take all four parts of the exam before June… and I haven’t passed the first two sections I’ve taken. Really feeling low, especially since everyone in my class that I sit around has been talking about how easy the CPA exam is. Discouraging. I try to remind myself that it takes most people much longer than five months to pass the whole thing – but I’m surrounded by all these people who are rocking it!

Which review course are you using? What is your study schedule like? Kids? Family? Job? All of those things will help everyone here to help you.

As for being surrounded by the MENSA Society and their “easy” comment, tell them easy is a relative term and luckily you aren't actually related to a bunch of jerks! Don't let them get you down. This test is hard. It has a 48% pass rate. If it were easy, it would have a 100% pass rate. Keep your head up and know that the only way to fail is to quit.

And for the majority of us, the only way to pass it to prepare!! I will have studied in the ballpark of 150-175 hours for BEC (includes the initial 90 I spend the first time I took it and made a 66.) I am not at all saying that it will take you that many hours, I just know that I do not want this to drag on so I made a choice. If I do not pass, I will regroup and be at 225 hours the next time I take it. It all depends on how bad you want it…or for the lucky few, how incredibly smart they are.

Props SportsNerd… you just reminded me how much effort some people put into these tests. I'm at around 16 hours now and I have it on April 6th. Wish me luck, and good luck to you as well! haha.

Well I just can't seem to balance studying with everyday life and work so I decided to try and knock it out as fast as I can. I guess we will see what happens…but if I fail, I may never come back to this particular forum hahaha

My university offers Becker for credit, so that's why its accelerated. I think I should have known better… studying for three weeks each for Audit and BEC was just not enough for me! But I try to remind myself that they are the freaks and I'm the normal one for struggling!
