I took FAR on Jan 3, 2012. Just curious if anyone who has passed has had a similar experience to mine. Each day that passes my feelings change. One day I think I passed, one day I dont. Today I feel I probably failed.. which has prompted this post.
I think I did farily well on the MCQ. I really have no idea if the questions became harder teslet to teslet or not. In fact, in some cases, I think they were getting easier. I did have some heavy calculations throughout and one thing that stood out was the amount of government and not for profit questions, atleast 10-12. I also had 2 or 3 IFRS questions, nothing too intensive. I finished the MCQ with 1 hour and 45 min to go… Being conservative, I think I may have gotten 23 or 24 questions correct per teslet. Which would bring me to about 70 questions correct, 20 incorrect (some of which could be pretest).
If I fail, there is no doubt that it will be because of the SIMS. I spent way too much time on the research tab, and I know I did not get it correct. Just could not find it. Was in the correct section, just not specifically what they were asking for.
Out of the other 6 SIMS, I know I got one of them 100% correct.
Of the Other 5, partial credit on 4, I know atleast a few of my answers were correct, some not correct or some cells left blank.
One SIM – COMPLETELY LEFT BLANK.
I really dont know if this means that I passed or not but my gut is telling me that I did not do enough on the SIMS to pass.
I read the document from the AICPA on grading the exam that stated that for each exam, the MCQ have 15 pretest and SIMS have 1 pretest. If this is the case, I am praying that the one I left completely blank was pretest, as I really had no idea what they were asking, which I have heard is a good indicator that it could be pretest…
Anyone out there that can shed some light on my experience and if they passed?
Thanks
