    Good Afternoon all. I will say I used the entire 4 hours at least and hour of it was trying to research SIMS.

    1st testlet – was OK, I think I mark about 5 for review

    2nd testlet – I couldn’t tell if it had gotten harder or not but at least 50% of the question were more than a sentence or two. I marked about 5-6 for review

    3rd testlet – again, I couldn’t tell if it had gotten harder but I did see a similar question that I had, had in either the first or second teslet but it was worded a little different. I think I marked at least 4 for review

    OVERALL Not sure of the difficulty though. Hopefully the ones I was iffy about are the throw-out questions.

    SIMS!!!!!!! Holy crap!!!

    For the most part, 3 of them, I think I would get 100% on.

    3 of them, I think I could get at least 50% of the points or maybe more

    1 of them, I was like SH*T!! And I tried to research as much as possible. Hopefully is the throw-out SIMS.

    So we shall see some time around 2/21 well around 2/24 for us Texas people.

    Hey MylifeisCPA,

    Your testlets sounded exactly like mine. I marked the same amount of q's. In terms of the sims, it seems like you did well. I only felt like one was 100%, and that was the research. All my sims felt like 50/50 chance I got it right. I used the entire 4 hours too. I think your overall experience sounds promising—I am so hoping to hear you say “I passed”.

    Yahoooo!! I hope you are taking part of the day off. What test are you onto next?

    Really glad to hear that the sims were better for ya. Have a great day!!!

    @katie,

    It is a slow go on REG. I am almost finished with R2. Most things are still in my memory bank, except basis so far. So many details that I forgot. I guess I need to spend a lot of time reviewing that. I moved up my exam, I just need to get it out of the way. This whole process has been really stressful for family life.

    How bout you? When is FAR going down????

    Probably 2/6. I keep waiting for one of those “easier” chapters but it hasn't come along. Pensions nearly killed me. My bonds chapter had WAY too many MCQs for homework, but pensions didn't have quite enough.

    On top of that, I wrote my name like “Katie Kanton, CPA” the other day for inspiration because I was so frustrated, and the weirdest thing happened. It was like a sudden revelation. In a flash of certainty I thought, “Holy crap, I'm not supposed to be doing this… this is not what I need to do with my life.” Kind of like writing your first name with your high school crush's last name as your “married name”, and suddenly having a vision of the future where he cheats on you with your mother, beats you with your only real designer purse, kills your favorite goldfish, and leaves you in a puddle of blood, taking your cell phone so you have to walk 15 miles to the nearest gas station for help, and then you flash back to the present and he's asking you to the prom and you think, “You know, going stag's not really all that bad.”

    I'm too far in to stop now, though. I also think there might be a possibility that I'm a tad too dramatic when I feel overwhelmed.

    @Katie

    I love your writing!! Your descriptions are fabulous. Maybe you moonlight as a writer? Katie Kanton, CPA by day, Katie K., writer by night!!!

    Seriously, FAR is a ton of material. Don't let it get to you. I thought Pensions were rough, and same with Govt. For me, by far the toughest to get through. I was always ok with bonds, I had my Series 7 way back when, so I guess some things just stuck. Keep at it….you will get there. Then you will be 1/2 there !!

    your exam sounds like mine – wondering if we all got the same AUD exam this time 😉 Really hoping for passing scores for all of us!

    @katiekanton – hilarious! I am sure that is one of those panic moments where we all think the sky is falling and whatever we thought we were supposed to do is completely wrong – you can do this!

    @yankee oh how I understand the stressful situations with family because of this exam… I have two daughters (almost 8 and 4) and a husband and AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH ….. ok I'm done 😉

    @MylifeisCPA,

    Have a glass of wine for me!!! Honestly, I could use one since I am doing R3 now! It is good to take some time off and recharge your batteries. I always find that right after I take an exam I am inexplicably tired, just can't get enough sleep. I will see you on the REG thread, and of course, the go-to thread, the Power thread. We are doing this in 2012!!!

    @Ashleycap,

    I got a chuckle reading your post……. because of the AAAAHHH on the husband part. That has been the hardest part for me on this process. Sometimes I feel like I am working just as hard for my CPA as I am in keeping my MRS. My kids are older: one in college, one in high school—two boys……I admire you for taking this on with little ones. Kudos to you. All the Moms doing this with little ones take multitasking to a whole new level!!!

    Best of luck to you with BEC!!
