I am using they Wiley review book for FAR as well as the Ninja MCQ/SIMS. I’m about half way through the Wiley book and am finding that I am just not comprehending the concepts and forgetting as soon as I move on to the next chapter.

Everyone preaches over hammering out MCQs, but I’m wondering if anyone has just focused on SIMS as much as possible which are usually more comprehensive and will in turn help with the MCQs? Anyone tried this method and succeeded??

I spent 2 weeks before each exam studying the SIM's in Gleim. It helped tremendously.

I focused on MCQs a little more than SIMs, but for every MCQ session I did, I made sure to have AT LEAST 1 sim in there. Even if it's just research. When I was burnt out from doing JUST MCQs, I did a session of 5 sims. Whatever floats your boat. Just make sure you do them.

I don't know my score. But I do know I finished all the sims that was on my exam though.

kwivell, get yourself any review course then study your book. the book has much more than you need to know. i had yaeger and they were using wiley book and lots of pages were skipped over. yeah, i do hear ppl just doing MCQ's and were able to pass. i don't know any people personally that have succeeded that way. i feel you may end up spending more time if you just focus on MCQ's.

for audit doing the ninja sims helped tremendously because i used the actual standards rather than the AL provided – knowing where things are in advance of that exam will help you with time.
i am absolutely doing the sims for reg because they force me to think through the concept presented and even when wrong i get to follow the thinking behind the wording of the questions, the instructions i have to employ, and the format of the answer they require. you would be surprised at the number of stupid mistakes you would make on the exam if you have not practiced and, here is the most important part, learn from your mistakes.

    FAR 7/25/15 76!
    AUD 10/30/15 93
    BEC 2/27/16 82
    REG 5/23/16 88!
Ninja Book and MCQ and the forum - all the way!!!
and a little thing i like to call, time and effort!

I'd say doing MCs helps so much more than reading for me. It's been proven in the past 3 exams I took and I'm planning on study by only doing MCs and Sims for FAR and only go back to the text for reference. I guess it's worth a try since I got about 2 mth left and work full time.

PS: Don't ever leave Sims alone.
