I am curious about how many MCQ’s people usually work before each section? I read a lot of people are watching lectures until about 2 weeks before the exam and then do massive MCQ’s. I wouldn’t get that many done in 2 weeks, I am really slow with them at first as I try to figure them out and if I get it wrong I read why and make a note card for review. So my question is do people pass just fine with doing less MCQ’s than more???

I usually try to do some of the MCQ's after each lecture, but not all of them (especially if there is 100 of them!). Then as part of my review I do the rest of the MCQs and review the ones I got wrong in addition to taking at least one practice exam. For FAR, I also used Wiley test bank to get some variety, especially with the sims and I am doing the same with BEC now. The Becker sims for REG left me feeling totally unprepared on exam day. I also take notes on the ones I get wrong and review those notes periodically as well. Hope that helps.

    AUD - 89
    REG - 79
    FAR - 82
    BEC - 84

@pattibelle – so throughout your review do you complete all the Becker and Wiley MCQ's?

I usually try to get all the Becker homework questions, at least once. I'll also do some of the supplemental questions too, esp on topics I need more reinforcement with and want new questions to work on. I don't know what % of the Wiley questions I complete – I just used it for the first time with FAR and did 2 practice exams with it.

    AUD - 89
    REG - 79
    FAR - 82
    BEC - 84

@pacific1, I try to master one program before I move on to the next. I go through all the Becker MCQs until they're all completed, then I do a bunch of progress test. When I start scoring really high on Becker–I'll move on to Wiley, to make sure I actually know the topics and that I'm not just getting familiar with the Becker questions. I study full time so I try to do around 200 MCQs a day–That's a full day of non stop questions and reading all the incorrect/correct answers. Good luck!

    AUD 81 (X4) Previous scores 59, 72, 72
    REG 80 (X3) Previous scores 59, 60
    FAR 75 (X2) Previous score 67
    BEC 79 (X2) Previous score 58

I have not taken FAR yet, but I have had success on my first two exams by completing all of the Becker mcqs at least twice. In addition to completing the homework twice and filling up multiple notebooks with outlines/ notes for each topic, i have also used different materials as supplements. For REG, I checked out the Wiley book with the mcqs from the library and used it for extra review on topics I was less comfortable with. In preparation for BEC, I purchased and punted out jeff's ninja notes and used them to create one last final outline of the material by writing down additional details on each topic.

I am currently studying for audit using Becker, but this time I also purchased Wiley's iPhone mcq app, which allows me to fit in extra practice whenever I get the chance (like when I have to wait 10 minutes every morning for my work computer to start up!). When I do start prepping for FAR, I plan on completing the Becker mcqs 2xs, purchasing the Ninja notes again, and using either the Wiley or CPA excel app. Good luck with your studying!!!
