MCQs

I have eight days until I have to take the FAR, and I’ve been alternating between studying the book and doing MCQs. I always read everyone recommending doing MCQs for the final week before the exam. My question for everyone is: do you continually do the same MCQs over and over again? Wouldn’t you eventually learn (either consciously or subconsciously) the right answer to each question? Or does everyone alternate between Becker and other review courses/cpareviewforfree?

    I’m starting to get nervous.

Pick up the Wiley software for $77. almost 1,000 MCQ and simulations. Worth it for a solid week of studying.

I'm taking FAR on tuesday and in my final review, which i did for 2 weeks, I went over a chapter a day and did the multiple choice questions after I studied the chapter and this really helped me. I felt like some of the material was new to me, which was okay because I figured I'd forget some even after only looking over it two weeks ago. I feel much better and the second time through I have started to retain more material and really see some of the little differences as well as how all the topics tie into each other.

Personally, I would recommend going over each chapter and then doing the respective MCQ's and related SIMS. I bought the Wiley book from amazon so I use questions and sims from there too. Minimorty said it well you should pick up the wiley book at Barnes and Noble or buy the software.

Don't keep going over the same questions, but make sure that you know how to arrive at the answer. I found out just like you that after going over the same questions you end up remembering the answers which doesn't do anything. However, I also don't think studying the chapter should be overlooked. Make sure you look over each chapter and takes notes (about three to four pages) of the significant facts in each chapter. Then you will be able to do an overall review the day before the exam and you will have about 40 pages of notes to look over.

I used the Becker text but not the problems or videos, the Wiley text, and the Wiley test bank. When studying the material initially, I read Becker, skimmed Wiley, and did the Wiley text problems. I reviewed the answers and made a few notes on my weak areas and repeated stupid mistakes. During my final review, I went over the Becker chapter notes, my notes, and did the test bank MCQ for each section. After doing that I went over my weak spots again. The last two days I spent doing sample exams from the test bank. Even though I'd done all the problems from the test bank already so I'd seen the questions before this was only my second go thru on them so memorization wasn't really an issue. There is very little overlap between the Wiley text and the test bank problems. The $77 price mentioned above applies if you buy the online version of the test bank thru this site. You can buy the CD version a little cheaper thru Amazon, but several people, including myself, have had installation problems with it. Check out the Amazon reviews for details.
