Managed to score an interview with a Big 4. Question…

I got a little lucky and landed an interview with one of the Big 4 for an entry-level tax related position. Since it was through an agency I bypassed the HR department will be interviewing with the manager I will be working under. Anyone have any advice of what type of questions I should expect from a manager at one of the big 4? My agent noted that it’s a personality interview

Is it safe to assume that I won’t have to worry about all the “weed out” type questions that the HR people usually grill you on? Any help would be appreciated, thanks

Just like studying for the CPA, I would try to anticipate/prepare for anything. If you can, try to find out who is interviewing you so that you can maybe do some research on linkedin etc. Best of luck to you!

If I may ask, what region are you located in and which agency did you go through? I'm currently job hunting as well.

    BEC - 84
    AUD - 83
    FAR - 82
    REG - 81

Behavioral questions – e.g. tell me about a time when you went above and beyond the call of duty.

    Tell me about yourself.

    Why (firm name)?

    Why Tax?

& Sometimes a big cushion of time just for you to ask questions too

    FAR - 90
    REG - 75
    AUD
    BEC

I interviewed with all four and my experience was that the first interview was always a personality interview. Just asking about things on my resume, why I chose accounting, why I chose my school, etc. The second round of interviews were more behavioral, but still not totally intimidating. I also interviewed with Boeing, which had a crazy structured interview where they gave you a situation and you had to answer in a specific format and it was totally scary. I would be prepared for something less intense than that, but still try to come up with situations or past events that you've been a part of that you could fall back on should they ask you a situational question. Just my two cents. Good luck 🙂
