MAJOR MISTAKE

I made a huge mistake today.

When my wife asked if I would like to string the Christmas lights outside and decorate the tree, I replied that I don’t have time, I need to study for the exam.

    Well, guess what.

She let me know in very colorful terms what she thought about the “EXAM” and me and the amount of time I’ve been devoting to the “EXAM” and how little I’m doing for the “FAMILY” and how she is shouldering all the responsibilities around the house and…….

This was not a short little quip friend. This was a major “you just screwed up buddy” tirade. (Some of you guy’s have experienced this).

Anyway, for anyone in a relationship, it might be a good time of year to back off the books and show some interest.

I have to go and try to cheer up a sad wife.

Im having the same exact situation now………….I don't know how to handle it since im between 2 walls, one way I will surely fail the exam and make her happy, while the other way will increase my chances of passing while making her unhappy…… very hard.

Ouch.. good point and good luck. Because it is December, you should take 1 day to spend with her. You can spare 1 whole day, promise! You're gonna pass, you will be okay.

My husband is back in school now too. I can't mention the “EXAM” without him thinking I am in some “who's got it worse?” contest with him.

He took a final last Wednesday and has not slept because he is waiting on his score. He should know by noon today. I took FAR for the 4th time last month and will *maybe* get a score before Christmas… THAT is torture.

He just rolls his eyes when I mention my “EXAM”. He doesn't understand why I haven't passed it already so his life will get easier.

Heres my two cents…. You can always get a new wife, but you cant always pass the test! So tell her to suck it up support you in your time of need.(and yes I am happily married)

SecondTime….I've been in your shoes. Trust me…I have, except my wife temporarily left me for about a week!!! I kid you not. And yes, it was most definitely because I was absolutely obsessing over the cpa exam.

I have noticed a common trait among us accountants.

The ability to obsess. It is both the great gift and great burden. Behavioor we take for granted is thought of as EXTREAM by many others.
