    Hi All,
Really need your advice here.. I failed FAR for the second time (64 on first attempt, 70 on second attempt). My score did go up, so I see clear progress, but how many hours of studying would you say I need to add those 5 points? I don’t want to give up yet, but I am also having second thoughts about retaking FAR … maybe I just need to move on to another section? But then I risk forgetting everything I studied for FAR:(

I would HIGHLY suggest not moving to a different section. As for hours needed, there is no formula to determine that. You know you best and you know how much you'll need to study to feel confident!

Have you passed any sections or is FAR the first one?

Thanks so much for your advice! FAR is my first one, I decided to get that one out of the way first, but now failed it twice:(

As Jeff says, you're not 5 points away. You're 75 points away.

Remember that FAR is by far the hardest test due to the complexity and the amount of material you need to memorize/understand. I failed 3 times before I passed. 68, 72, 73, and 81. I completely understand how you're feeling! You're close – you nailed a lot of the concepts. Use your score to really brush up on the areas you felt you didn't know as well.

What I did that last time? I started over. I read ALL of the chapters, I watched 100% of all the lectures (including the super easy ones). Make sure you take the AICPA Practice Tests – they really help! Pretend you haven't studied and give it a fresh go!

You can do this. We, as a community, ALL believe in you! We're cheering for you!

FAR: 65 (still drying my tears) 2nd attempt: 7/2016
BEC: 81 5/2016 (WOO FIRST PASS!)
    REG: 5/2016
    AUD: 8/2016

Yes, stick with FAR, that's great advice. Continue with it til you get it, you'll get it next time, there is no secret number of hours, just work as hard as you can. Don't think if you get to x hours that'll be enough to get a 75, heck don't even aim for a 75, aim for a 99, just study, study, and study more.

You All are so very helpful and inspiring! Thank you!!! I am going to schedule my take 3 for the end of July, hopefully one more month of studying will be enough to get that 75!!!

It took me 4 times to pass FAR, I studied everything 100 plus hours on each retake. On my final attempt I quickly went through all the lectures and focused all my remaining time doing all the ninja and Becker mcqs. No sims.

I also failed FAR twice before passing all. I would recommend adding another test bank. I used Roger review and supplemented with other test banks like Ninja. FAR is the hardest part for most of us, so failing twice isn't a big deal. Just keep it up and study. Good luck!

    FAR 72,67,79 (Roger+Wiley test bank)11/15
    AUD 80 (Roger)10/15
    BEC 80 (Roger)4/16
    REG 63,78 (Roger+Ninja MCQs)5/16
