So, I basically still have a full chapter to review (R4 in Becker, lol..) and I’m taking the test in about 6 hours. On top of this, I’m a moron and have been focusing on completing the law area of REG in Becker this week instead of just going back and doing the tax questions from R1-R4.

On a scale of 1-10, how screwed am I? Secondly, I’m basically on the boarder as to whether I should just call in and cancel my exam (can’t re-schedule, this is my last NTS day… Scheduled all 4 exams at the same time. Again, I’m a moron). Should I still go in and take it? I know I really have nothing to lose by going in and taking the test, but I passed FAR and AUD on my first shot and I don’t want to fail an exam simply due to the fact that I didn’t have enough time to study. I was a very strong tax and law guy back in school, but I just don’t think I will be able to do well enough here to get a 75. Any input and/or moral support you guys could give would be greatly appreciated.

P.S. On a side note, having a job and getting in time to study for the CPA sucks. Just thought I would share that with everyone in case you didn’t know! =p

If I were you, I'd go in and do the best I could. Who knows? You might surprise yourself and pass this one on first attempt too. I was a bit like that with AUD and I breezed through the exam despite not having reviewed the AICPA Code and ISA. I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for you! My showdown is next Sat and I'm not at all ready. Break a leg!

I am on the same boat, hoping for one and done streak too for Reg . Just need another 75 PLEASE…………………a lot of last minute studying for me too (took off work on Friday). This one is going to be tough, not easy especially with Black Friday Shopping the previous day and I have three teenage girls at home ready to “shop till you drop”.

You really have nothing to lose by taking it at this point. When I started this I was TOTALLY clueless and started with FAR. I only used cpaexamreviewforfree.com and google. Made my own notes and flashcards. Had no clue at all what might be on the exam. I literally googled for 6 weeks and that was IT.

Was one of the two exams I passed on my first attempt, and my 2nd to highest score of the four. I had no legitimate right to pass that thing.

Can you use the research tab to answer the non-research sims?

I mean I know you can physically click on the tab and search on things, but I have seen multiple posts that conflict with each other.

In my experience, I'm really good at doing the research sims, but I have not been able to find much/any support for FAR or AUD when I use the research tab to answer regular sims. Am I doing something wrong?

I am a little confused yankee. Do you mean you have been able to find supporting answers in the research tab for REG? Or just that you know you can click on the research tab when you're working on a non-research sim?

Well, when I took REG, I was able to use the research tab for non research sims. The whole thing is a blur in my head, but I do think I found some information that was helpful in solving a sim. All in all, for me, the language in the literature is Swahili. So, it isn't always easy (for me) to find information to solve/help with a sim that I was struggling on. Does that make sense?

I do think that I have seen many posts that people were successful in using the research tab for REG on the sims that they had trouble with.

You can and should use the research but be careful not to run out of time. Skip onto the easiest sims and save the best for last.
