I’m seeing link-chain inventory in the SIMs in Ninja but I don’t recall seeing that in my review material and I’ve never seen it in questions from other programs.

I know dollar-value LIFO but and it’s corresponding inventory layers but link-chain I haven’t seen before. Is this a Ninja-specific format?

Link-chain is one method of calculating dollar value LIFO. Double extension is the other method. JoA has definitions of these at the end of this article. Your other review material probably uses the link-chain method but neglects to refer to it by name.
