I have a REG retake Monday and then will be studying for a FAR retake. FAR retake will (hopefully) be my last section.

I'm a proud member of the LFFL Club! 🙂 I intentionally saved FAR for last simply because of the sheer amount of material encompassed by it. Even with having a good grasp of most of the concepts now I still tend to feel overwhelmed just from looking at all of the notes I've taken.

Even with motivation being harder to come by now, I'm still glad I decided to save FAR for last because I have more than a few attempts at passing it before I lose credit for BEC next August. As it turns out, FAR ended up being the only exam I didn't pass on the first attempt, but at least after that failure I could still say, “Just one more left!”

Guilty! 🙂 I kind of did it on purpose because I knew I'd be in a time crunch (I don't study or sit for exams during busy season at work, so it's taken me over a year to sit for all of these sections), and I didn't want to risk losing a difficult section like FAR if I had taken it first.

That said, I'm crying in my Cheerios about leaving it for last, lol. Right now it's 11pm and my husband is asleep, I've been up since 5am, and I'm still trying to wrap my head around deferred income taxes. I figure when you're this sleep deprived studying is futile anyway, but my exam is in two weeks and I'm only on F6. I feel a constant weight on my shoulders to always be studying, no matter what.

In short, I'm losing my mind, but hopefully in two weeks I can sit for this beast and be done forever.

I'm so glad there is a post like this! I saved FAR for last too. I have been out of touch with this material for so long that I was afraid I would quit if I did FAR first. I went easiest section first and so on, to gain confidence and learn study habits.

FAR is just plain awful. It wouldn't be so bad if it wasn't for the sheer volume of material. The AICPA has so many questions they can draw from.

If I don't pass, I lose credit for my first section. Not a place I want to be in. I never want to look at FAR again after early November.THAT is what is keeping me going. All of that time I spent for the other sections would go right down the drain.

I'm an LFFL'er. I attempted it as my very first exam ever, and failed (my fault for not doing the time). So, when I got back to studying, I purposely left it for last.

After studying for 13 mths., I'm running on fumes here. The ONLY motivating factor is fear – fear that I might have to study for this exam again.

    AUD: 84 - Oct. 2013
    BEC: 83 - Feb. 2014
    REG: 91 - May, 2014
    FAR: 68, 96 - Oct. 2014...DONE

Also guilty! If doing this over, I wouldn't have done it this way! I had so much energy and motivation to study for #1. Not much left for #4.

Lucky member of the LFFL club here, I too am having a difficult time with motivation for this last section. However, I think that would be the case with whichever section was last. Praying for it to miraculously leap from the book into my brain.

    REG 91 (07/14)
    AUD 83 (08/14)

    Good luck Dave!

I took Far 2nd, and 3rd, and last!

The 3rd attempt really brought everything together, but for newbie's I definitely recommend giving it a whirl 1st or 2nd.

    REG- (1) 76
    FAR- (2) 64, (5)74, (7)83 (Over achiever!)
    AUD- (3) 70, (4) 75
    BEC- (6) 75

I left it for last, but not for any good reason.

I'm glad I left it for last. I think I would have run out of steam if I took it first. Since it's my last section, my sole motivation is not to let the time and effort I spent passing the other 3 sections go to waste.
