So I’m taking FAR Friday morning and wanted to share my current status and game-plan for the final countdown, as well as vent….

So I’ve been studying for this exam for about the past three months. Started sometime in early June, and was on track to take exam early August, but then I decided to not give up my social life for most of June while working about 30 hours a week, and found myself in trouble in July. Pushed the exam back, and I’m not feeling completely ready for FAR, but I’m feeling almost as ready as I can be and just want to get this exam over with.

For the last week leading up the exam day, I’ve been doing about 4 – 30 question comprehensive problems a day, along with a chapter of SIMs or two, some reading, and listening to FAR Audio. Probably could have studied another couple hours a day, but I’ve reached the burnt out feeling by that point. Also took my first practice exam two days ago and scored in the low 60’s on each section. This actually helped boost my confidence though. A lot of the errors were from just simply rushing through the exam and were concepts I “somewhat” understand.

Today I’ve just been doing mainly SIM’s, working my way through F3-F7 SIMS along with a couple quick comprehensive problem sets, and I planning on taking the second becker practice exam tonight. A decent day of FAR studying…

I’m planning on putting in hopefully about 6 hours of studying tomorrow afternoon on the topics I do poorly on from tonight’s exam as well as topics I know I could learn more in. I’ll probably skim through the answers of the SIMS, and play the FAR audio one more time. If I have time I’ll open up the Becker book, but I’m ready to light that mofo on fire.

Got a company softball game in the evening, So the plan is to have some fun at that, drink a few beers (hopefully not too many) and hit the bed for a good night sleep.

Can’t wait for that Friday afternoon feeling.
