    Hi everyone,

I hope everything is going well.

So, I received news that I passed AUD today which leaves me with FAR as the last one; challenge accepted.

Anyways, I just wanted to see if you guys had any main tips for FAR vs. the other exams I have taken. Specifically, anyone that has used/using CPAExcel.

Are lectures necessary? Any main areas I should focus on? Any mnemonics you guys have found useful?

I’m about to dive into the it now and am more eager to just get it done and finally be done with these exams.

    Thanks!

I personally thought the lectures didn't relay any info that I couldn't quickly pick up from the book. And for lack of the time it would take to go through all of the material, I pretty much relied solely on the text, past exam questions, and TBSs.

I wish I could offer more advice, but that first exam was a blur. And I felt SO inundated with the info covered in FAR. I also felt a little blind sided by the volume of governmental and international questions I got…but that's likely because I sort of rushed through those sections.

Like you referenced, just dive in and get through it.

I am in the same position. Sitting for FAR next week and it is my last. The information can seem overwhelming at times. I often wonder how I will remember it come test day. Seems a little ridiculous. Just have to power through

    @DOSMO

thank you, that advice is plentiful; so I think I'm going to do like I did w/ REG & BEC; only watch the lectures if there's something specific I don't understand.

    thank you

@unbalanced, good luck bud, and yea the amount of info seems overwhelming, this is the only exam CPAExcel has 2 books for lol

With FAR, more than any others, put in your time.

    It's a LOT of material.

I passed AUD after two weeks of studying. BEC & REG took me three weeks. I work 50 hours a week, too.

I'm finding out the hard way that that is not possible with FAR.

I also left FAR for last and just found out I am done. Compared to the other exams, it was definitely the hardest in my opinion. I walked out of prometric thinking I failed but my score ended up being pretty good. Put in the time, there are no shortcuts in FAR.

I didn't watch any lectures for CPAExcel. I only read the material and took notes on it. For MCQs, I mainly used WTB. I did do a lot of the cash to accrual and accrual to cash problems in CPAExcel though. Those were in one of the first modules.

My 74 came from over looking NFP/Gov, and I feel like I really have it down this time. Revenge comes tomorrow!

Good luck Tom. You'll ace it this time.

My recent failure came from overlooking governmental. I won't be making that mistake twice.

Bill Brasskey once blessed me right before I took FAR. I ended up getting a 99, a Maserati, and a Brazilian model pregnant!

We once had a bachelor party for Brasky. He ate the entire cake, before we could tell him there was a stripper in it.
