Looking for some last minute advice that might help propel me past the 75 mark for my FAR retake this coming Friday (11/11).

    My Ninja MCQ Scores:

    Trending: 87%
    Average: 77%
    Q’s Not Seen:269
    Q attempts:2515

I try not to memorize answers but when I see familiar Q’s I work the problem out by hand. I’ve done a few SIMS. Weakest area is Govt. but I feel like if I keep pounding Govt. more and more I’ll start losing my retention in the other sections. Should I attempt to hit the review phase before Friday?

Other weaker areas are partnerships/IFRS (impairment rules)/Bonds/Warrants

Any advice based on the info provided or from your own experience is greatly appreciated!

    I’m 0-2 on FAR & AUD

Well you are in a much better situation than me doing the Ninja MCQ. Also my FAR test is today!
I think it is really too late to do much. Maybe make sure you know some stuff like double declining balance and proper amortization.

    BEC: 80
    REG: 75
    FAR: __, ?/2016

My own personal advice is try you best to comprehend all the material. I think test takers tend to disregard sections of the exam because it may make up only 10-15% of the exam. My theory is that those questions actually become weighted higher because they are questions most often missed. For governmental I would study the different funds and also know the journal entries.

I would review the basics, inventory, depreciation, goodwill impairment.

Study as much journal entries as possible, especially for govt and nfp, that's how I passed FAR.

Don't flag questions. FAR is an exam where you will be short on time. Take your best stab at a question and then move on. If you can't figure it out, take your best guess, don't linger. I got to the sims with over 2hrs left and I used every bit of it. Read the question carefully and make sure you know the “call of the question” before attempting to answer it. Read all of the answers to the questions, even if you know for a fact that the first answer you read is correct. If you are smart, you can learn from those wrong answers which might help you later in the test. Good luck!!!

PS: There is absolutely ZERO chance you will come out of there feeling good about your performance. It's best to just move on to your next exam and not worry about your score.

Gov., Non-for-profit, business combinations are always heavily tested. I took FAR three times 🙁

For FAR, the last minute cram is very important IMO.

    AUD 80 (Roger)10/15
    BEC 80 (Roger)4/16
