Hi everyone !! I just finished my first session which is FAR this morning. They were not too bad but i left the testing center feeling uncertain of the result. I ran out of time on the simulation. I finished the two research but did not get to finish four simulations. Testlest 1-3 were all medium, i think. I know i could have passed it if i have studies harder and put more time on topics that was not my strong points. Unfortunately, the topics that i did not thoroughly review and did not familiarize myself showed up on the exam. so i am praying so hard !! Now i know what i have to improve on my study habit. Get more familiarize on each topic. Good luck to all of you. My next test is on May 26 which is Auditing.

I guess you could've started making up your own accounting rules while taking the test lol

Do not keep thinking about that test. You're done with it for now. Start working on Auditing. I'm glad you picked up on better ways to study.

Yep, i think i actually made my own accounting rules! LOL!!

Drex, you are right, thank you. I need to forget about that test and move on to Auditing since i only four weeks to study. How did you find FAR? How about auditing, which one is more intense? Which one did you find harder?

@bugueydreamer, if you weren't able to finish 4 SIMs then I'm thinking you had a big problem with time management too. I've never heard of anyone passing when they left 4 SIMs uncompleted 🙁 I wish though! If you end up having to restudy maybe you can add time management and speed to the list of things to work on. Good luck!

I don't think you should start studying auditing yet. Like EELCPA said, leaving SIMs incomplete makes your chances of passing probably impossible.

If you feel FAR would be manageable if you had more time, you should start restudying right away. Your results will be out in the next month and you don't want to start forgetting what you learned by studying auditing and completely forgetting about FAR.

My recommendation is to study FAR again very slowly and making sure you understand everything before you move on to the next chapter. There's no point in speeding through everything. You'll be wasting your money. Study old material weekly which makes your final review much easier. Of course you're not going to understand and know everything. No one does…

When you take your next exam, make sure you have a time management system in your head. If you don't know the answer, just move on. Focus on the ones you do know and make sure you do a good job on those.

Yea, this is not an exact science, but seeing as how the SIMS are worth 40% of your score, and you left 4 of 7 blank, you could potentially lose between 15-25% of your total score right there. You'd almost have to ace the whole rest of the exam (MCQs and SIMS) in order to pass. I realize the exam is not based on %, but there's definitely some correlation, especially in just the SIMS.

If I were you, I'd prepare for a FAR retake. Sorry. I hope I'm wrong.

    AUD - 79
    BEC - 88
    REG - 87
    FAR - 86 - Woot, all done!
    Ethics - 100

I should take Drex's advice too. I am just brooding over this. and getting really upset And like buguey, I have auditing next. Still, the time's effort and to fail, cpa has been my entire life.

I disagree about stopping studying for AUD though. Instead, once you are done with AUD, immediately dive back into FAR. Yes you will forget some material, but don't they say to tackle it as though you never learned it before? 30 days is a lot, but you are not likely as motivated until you see that score report. That is even assuming you failed.

How do you all feel about people leaving 1-2 SIMS completely blank? I have read where people miss 2 entire SIMS and pass the exam! I agree, 4 is too many. But it seems if you miss 1 or 2, you can hope 1 is the pre-test and you killed the MCQ.

    FAR- 83
    AUD- 90
    BEC- 85
    REG- 87
