Hi All, I just got back from taking FAR. Off the bat, I didn’t think it was too terrible…which terrifies me. I didn’t really notice the testlets getting much harder as I went on. I thought I did well on the first testlet, I knew most of the material and only was unsure of a few things, and when I got to the 2nd, I didn’t notice much of an increase in difficulty. The same thing happened with the third.

I did put in a TON of studying time for FAR so I’m thinking maybe that is what caused me to not notice much of an increase in difficulty on the testlets. Has anyone else had a similar experience and passed? I’m terrified because I think i did fairly well but the fact that I didn’t notice too much harder testlets.

Also, I know a lot of people are dumbfounded after the SIMs but there weren’t any that I was completely unsure how to do. I know I nailed the research question and at least got partial credit on each.

Any input would be appreciated, sorry if I’m rambling, just concerned.

For all you recent FAR takers, would you say the real exam is a little less heavy then becker problems?!

HI I just finished taking the FAR test today! and I just want to cry over the sims. I thought they were brutal. I did get some MC's that were harder but overall I think the sims were nothing like how becker put out it's sims.

I just hope I passed because studying for FAR would kill me if i had to again.

I took FAR yesterday and felt the exact same way, that the MC didn't seem to get any harder. The only comfort I can offer is I felt the same way for both REG and Audit and I passed both of those. Especially Audit, I even got the same question in the 2nd testlet that I got in the first. I wouldn't worry about it. If you felt like you knew the material, you probably did fine.

Is it just me or did you guys/girls forget what was on the exam? the only thing I remember are the simulations that's all.

Just got back from FAR — and I felt surprisingly similar to the original poster. The MC didn't seem terrible, I marked 5 or so per testlet. Left myself 2 hours for SIMS but ended up only needing 1 hour – I had two research questions – and the rest I could pretty much figure out what they were asking for and believe I got partial credit at least. Let's hope/pray I pass! I am trying not to look up answers because that only gives me more anxiety. I was expecting this to be the hardest one of all 4 and a total beast, but maybe, just maybe, I passed. At least we'll find out in only 1 month instead of 3 months like last window.

Glad some people feel similarly to me haha, any idea when we can expect scores if we just took the test within the past week? I'm thinking probably mid November? Ugh, such a torturous wait.

I had pretty much this exact exam experience. I am still pretty convinced that I failed. The first testlet was easy, although I did guess on a few problems. The testlets did not increase in difficulty for testlet 2 and 3. At least, I couldn't tell if they were or not.

The sims were moderate. 2 research questions. I'm pretty confident in my performance on the sims. Do these get harder if you did well on MCQ or does everyone get the same sims?

I rushed through the exam, getting through 3 testlets in 2 hours. I took 1 hour to complete the sims. I used the final hour to perfect my research questions (making sure that I addressed the questions), and checking my math on the other questions.

This was my first attempt at any of the sections so I have NO idea what to expect. We'll find out November 3rd, I guess.
