I took FAR on 4/5/11. Felt pretty good about the MCs, I thought that all 3 testlets were medium to medium/hard. I probably will end up not passing because I got steamrolled on the TBS. Overall I feel that I got 3 maybe 4 out 7 TBS’s right. Not too good. Probably will end up up in the infamous 70-74 range.

How the heck do you have time left when you finish FAR?? The questions require a lot of calculations and are time consuming to answer. Ugh! Now, I feel stupid. I so failed my FAR test last weekend.

Childplease is an exception, but what about hhiccd?? He/she passed with an 85 and has 1.5 hours remaining!!!! Seriously, how is that possible?

another exception? lol…i don't know how they were able to maybe they are all fast takers…i'm certain that a majority of people taking FAR don't have that much time to spare…don't worry about it..we won't be getting our scores till june 30th anyhow, no point in worrying about it now..

dont feel discouraged….eventually we will all pass

The thing is, I don't know if I passed. It's all a blur. Maybe I did, maybe I didn't. Argh! I want my scores. Hurry up, Nasba! LOL!

I finished FAR with 45 minutes left. Used 20 minutes to check the simulations. Left with 25 minutes remaining. I am glad that I wasn't the only one who finished the exam early. I couldn't tell if my testlets are getting harder. All of them are about the same difficulty. 5-7 are straight forward questions, and 20-23 are wordy. 7-8 IFRS questions altogether, I am expecting it will be more for the next two windows. I really hope wordy means the questions are getting harder. Because I was hoping my testlet # 3, for all 30 questions they would all be wordy… but I got 5-7 questions that are straightforward, which worries me.

Oh and, since international applicants will be able to take the CPA starting June, 2011, I am only assuming that it will be harder to pass the CPA in the future since you're actually competing people who are used to study in a pressured/stressful environment (Taiwan, China, Korea, Japan, India). This is just my hypothesis. I really hope I would be wrong on this one. If AICPA is grading the CPA independently among international and local candidates, it would be interesting to see how the grading scale will be affected by that.

I finished with only 5 minutes left, lol. But that's because I took my time with the questions. Everytime I knew a problem and was able to answer it, I kept double checking to make sure there were no tricks because sometimes, these questions are too good to be true. I spent an hour per testlet. Oddly enough, 1 hour was just enough time to complete all 7 TB Sims. I was almost worried when I only had 1 hour left after the 3rd testlet, lol. Turns out, 1 hour was just right.

@CPAMan & MM23-I'm having the hardest time forgetting about my FAR exam on 4/2 and switching gears to studying for AUD lol! I had maybe 8 min left at the end to finish one simulation (got it to balance 🙂 then finally called it quits with only 2 minutes to spare. It was my first exam (since 2003) so I don't know what to expect…I really feel for those who have to study it all over again, and I feel like that may be my situation after June 🙁 I'll be looking for all of your good news around score release time!

realistically speaking if people study only whats posted, then they are destined to fail…every exam is different, you just don't know what your gonna get…so banking on whats posted is not such a good idea imho. at the end of the day you gotta know everything…
