Just took FAR

    Holy Sh*t.

All testlets were pretty hard, very in depth questions. The last testlet did not seem to get easier by any means. There were many topics that I did not see at all that I was really banking on seeing. There were many repetitive questions of the same topic that almost asked the same question, was no expecting that.

Onto the simulations, there were a few that I had never even been exposed to the topic in Becker materials. Without exposing any specific details, KNOW journal entries. The research sim was crazy long as well. NOTHING like the ones I had practiced in the Becker materials and Becker’s Final exam

Also, if you think you are nailing the SIMS for Becker’s Final Exam, don’t think they’ll be that easy on the actual test. Again, I saw concepts that I had never even seen before and had to punch numbers in statements that I had no idea what they were.

Great moose way to scare me before my showdown with FAR tomorrow! 😉 I've heard it's a good sign that your testlets were harder (or hard)… as for sims YIKES is all I can say.. That is exactly what I'm afraid of getting to the sims and going UM… I didn't see any of this stuff!? I'm using Becker as well…

Were the MCQ's pretty comparable with Becker's?

Yes, I would definitely say they were comparable. Sorry, definitely not trying to scare you! DO NOT go into it being scared at all..you'll get through it. Just remember to read the whole question and just realize what it's asking and try and map out the lecture it was in when you studied for Becker. As for the SIMS, just hope for the best. I hoped for the best and got the worst. I would say glance over the Becker Final Exams 1 and 2 very quickly tonight (with time constraint as you are taking it tomorrow) and see what kind of questions you'll see for tomorrow.

    GOOD LUCK!!

@Ashley don't freak your self out! Try to relax tonight…I know it's easier said than done, I took FAR last week and I know the feeling… But all you can do at this point is to relax and have faith in yourself- Don't expect to know every single thing asked in the test as this is impossible! Good luck and let us know how it went!!

Thanks Jenuno01! What did you do the night before your exam? I'm sitting here going over my notes/flashcards and doing mcq's and thinking maybe I should just relax a bit! I'll definitely let you know how my test goes…. (if I survive j/k)

@Ashley I closed all my books at around 10pm and went for a run! My test was at noon so I woke up a little early to get a good breakfast and glance at my notes one last time!! It was my first test, and it was long and brain-consuming! I knew I would get hungry, so I actually took some granola bars and something to drink and ate them during a break before my simulations LOL – Seems silly, but it helped me a lot! =D

I was scheduled to take FAR tomorrow afternoon but I woke up feeling so unprepared that I rescheduled it for Thursday. Some of the practice SIMS have got me so worried.

@jenuno01…did you finish your MCQs so fast that you took a mental break? I'm nervous about the time. I've read that so many people have run out of time. 4.5 hours is a long time, but you did okay with that?

@jenuno01 I am sure I'm going to get hungry during the test and hopefully if I have enough time I'll be able to go out before SIMS and eat a little something too! This is my first exam as well and I just know my brain is going to be fried afterwards….if not during! Think I will close up my books about 10 tonight too…

@jjm1181 ahhh now I'm all alone taking the exam tomorrow! Try not to stress too much those two extra days really aren't going to do you a whole lot if you can't just take a breath and say “ok I've studied hard I can do this!” … I'm really nervous for the SIMS too but hey it's all or nothing right now! You only have 4 hours for FAR not 4.5 …

Hoping for a decent test tomorrow!

@jenuno01, I did the exact same thing for AUD. Took 10 minutes before the SIMs; inhaled a granola bar, chugged water, then went back in. I didn't do this the first time I took FAR and I think that's what made me leave pretty much as soon as the SIMs started. I was so exhausted from the MCQ, starving, just plain blah. This next round with FAR I'm going to take a 10 minute before the SIMs to refresh. I think the few minutes you lose, help you regain your focus and will work as an advantage.

    AUD 81 (X4) Previous scores 59, 72, 72
    REG 80 (X3) Previous scores 59, 60
    FAR 75 (X2) Previous score 67
    BEC 79 (X2) Previous score 58

@AshleyCap…You're on your own tomorrow. I didn't feel like I spent enough time on Pensions, consolidations and other random topics that I knew would fail me if they showed up on a SIM. After staying home today to study, I'm feeling a little better. I can't push it back again cause I got a date with AUD on Nov. 30th. Good luck tomorrow. I'll ibe nterested in hearing how it went for you.

Yes! Taking something to eat/drink before starting the SIMS was a great idea! For FAR, I finished the multiple choice testlets leaving about an hour and 20 mins for SIMS… I took about a 7 minute break to eat and go to the restroom! The break really helped me focus! I definitely recommend everyone to take some to eat/drink! Something like a granola bar, water, or RedBull! (I took a cheeseburger and a RebBull and horsed out LOL)

@Peanut. How did you go about studying for FAR? Is there anything you would have done differently?

    FAR - 8/30/11 [60] | 11/23/11 [88]
    REG - 10/28/11 [84]
    BEC - 1/2/12
    AUD - 1/21/12
