I took the Beast this morning and wow…I’m gonna be sweating it out until the 9th. I didn’t notice any significant difference in difficulty between the mcq testlets, which worries me. But the SIMs, dear God. I got the research one right, and probably 75% on two others, but the other four were complete crapshoots and mostly guessing.

I’m definitely not feeling good about it and hoping for a miracle!

I took it this morning too. My first testlet was a piece of cake. Second one was really tough. Then it got easier again for the third. SIMS were tough…..educated guesses. March 9 my friend!

Hopefully you both slayed the beast! I'm taking it on Monday and have no idea what to expect since it's my first exam. With respect to the sims, did either of you practice a lot of them or was it mostly mcq?

Yea same, just multiple choice and going over my notes. If I fail. deff will go over the SIMS again

Took the exam earlier this morning. The first testlet was surprisingly lengthy regarding the questions. I think i flagged 6. The second testlet was more complicated. The third just as hard as the second. The sims: research question i got right, four of them i would say 66 percent or higher. The other 2 i had no clue, ha. Left with 4 mins to spare. Gov/NFP was exercised quite frequently, both in the sims and mcq.

I just took FAR this afternoon. I studied for five months and I did a thousand multiple choice questions and few sims, but nothing could have prepared me for this exam. I thought BEC and AUD were horrible but this one kicked my butt and took my lunch money. I struggled with foreign currency translation questions and guess what I got the most of. Foreign currency questions. I did get a three questions in the second testlet that were duplicates from the 1st. Not sure if I got them right and got lucky and got the same three or if the exam was saying “Hey you big dummy, here's a second chance to get these right.” I'm not sure if the testlets were hard or easy or got easier or harder, all I know is that they were in a foreign language. I'm just hoping and praying for a 75.

@onymwaycpa: yeah same here, 2 or 3 questions that were duplicated not the exact wording but very similar.

Has anyone passed despite doing kinda crappy on the sims?

@Bear-Bear, when I took REG I spent 2 hours on the SIMS and had no idea what I was doing, but I managed to pass with an 83 haha
