i just got home from taking AUD today.

during the Exam, my first section was pretty much the same difficulty as the second one, which tells me i didn’t perform strongly on the first section. when i got to the third section, it was much much more difficult than the previous two, telling me i did pretty well on the second section. i hope this stands true and the scoring is appropriate.

the simulations were an absolute joke, i breezed through those. i got lucky where i was able to use the research tab for one of my communication sections and totally knocked that out of the park.

there were some items on the exam that were very tricky and pretty difficult, i didn’t go into it expecting to know everything, but i did study quite a bit for this exam so i am hoping all that work and frustration pays off.

i am just glad its over for right now and i pray i don’t have to study and retake this exam, but then again, i am prepared for a negative result if it does happen. we never really know how we do on these exams until the scores actually come out.

good luck to everybody else who took their exams today and will be taking them this month.

The audit communications probably worry me the most right now. I am hoping it is something I can look up in the research tab versus having to analysis why a company's processes have weaknesses.

Hope your score turns out when the time comes.

    Hi

I took my AUD exam on july 2, my all sections including simulations were difficult. In one tab, there was one letter from some professional body for auditor, they put 1,2,3,4,5,6 into it. The question was what can be these numbers, My research and written communication were very easy in both simulations

    Hi hopeful_cpa:

I tried my best to improve myself in all areas. My experience with AUD is very different, it gave me result against my expectation. I am afraid to say any thing easy in my exam on July 2 because I don't want to develop any expectations

i did not mean that it was easy as a way of thinking that i breezed through it. there were definitely very difficult aspects of the exam that i can safely say i know i did not get correct because i really did not know what the question was asking or i have never seen that material before.

certain aspects of the sims were incredibly easy through, i.e. the communication and research sections.

other than that, it was a typical CPA type of exam… you leave not knowing if you passed or not and it will drive you absolutely insane until the scores are released.

I am scheduled to take AUD on July 29th. I am currently using the Becker cpa materials, flashcards, and I have the final review coming to me in the mail this week. I am just finishing chapter 3 atm and was seeing if anyone has any tips for me. I haven't tried to do any sims yet since I haven't made it through all of the material yet. Any help is greatly appreciated.

    pres2112,

I am taking AUD on July 10 and posed the same question to the forum. And 99% of the time everyone's response included doing as many of the mutiple choice questions as possible. Of course go through the lectures and flashcards, but when you are through with those, just keep doing mc questions. I have noticed this being my second time through AUD, I am understanding more by simply doing the mc questions over and over. And you can tell what is going to be heavily tested on the real exam by the number of mc questions in Beckers questions.

Finish A4 and A5 and spend the rest of the time working on mc questions. When you get the final review (I think this takes about a week) do that then try the practice tests.

Just took AUD this afternoon. Came into the exam less prepared than I wanted to be, but I am fairly confident I passed. I “Marked for Review” 4 -7 in each multiple choice testlet (figure I got at least 33% correct on those marked for review) and got lucky with easier simulations.

I used Becker. There were 2 questions that the Becker material did not cover at all, but I was able to hazard a solid guess.

The way I studied Becker was to watch the lectures and get the highlighting/notes down. Then read through the chapter diligently and completed all the passmaster questions (except the supplementary questions). After doing this for each lecture, I started back at chapter one and re-read diligently, this time taking notes on every topic that didn't immediately make sense. Then completed the supplementary questions for each chapter and the Becker “final exams” to test/hone my knowledge.

A good resource that I just found out a few days ago is the “class notes” in the Becker software, which act as a study guide / curriculum. After taking the exam today, I could have scored a 95 if I went through and made sure I knew each of the topics listed in that “class notes” section.

    Hope this helps. Good luck!

Thank you for the advice, I really appreciate it. I have been watching the lectures, then doing the quizzes. When I get done with the chapter as a whole, then I do an overall quiz of 90 questions about 2-3 times and then a quiz over ever chapter that i have read and done the quizzes over. So hopefully this will help.

pres2112 you might want to rethink the order of your tests if you aren't planning to finish them all in 2010. FAR is going to be changing a lot so FAR and AUD are recommended to get knocked out in 2010.

    FAR 92 - AUD 91 - REG 94 - BEC 86
