And I feel like a moron.

Using Roger CPA Review, and the first topic just seemed to fly over me and I had to go back and figure out what he was even talking about. If I’m starting out this bad on just the conceptual framework, how am I going to get through the rest of it?

Granted, I’m a few years out of school, and so the international stuff is new since I took classes but… I’m two days into the course and I wish I hadn’t written on one of the books so I could send it all back for a refund. So discouraged. I feel like I just made a $1500 mistake.

Please please please tell me this is just how it feels when you’re starting out??

@OP If that is a problem, read first the book of the chapter and then see the video to get what he is talking about. I think you did a very good investment. All the book you have in your hands is compact, with the most important information that is asked in the exam (you need to do all the homework he says), that talking of FAR is A LOT in other books..

I missed some bucks so I'm with bisk now, and even when the system is good, I miss the compact info of Roger..

    Good luck!!

You'll have the same basic info with any of the review courses.

I felt much like you when I first started out. I struggled getting through FAR the first time and every other section too for that matter. I'm the type that had to go through the material two or three times before it all came together.

Don't be too hard on yourself. You may have to go through the material more than once, but just keep moving forward.

I'm 31 and graduated at 21. I just took FAR on Tuesday and I literally would've gotten zero answers correct (unless I guessed the right one) without my review course. I actually knew what every question was asking, even if I wasn't 100% sure of the answer. Just follow your review and do the questions it suggests and start from there. I was (am) SO overwhelmed – especially with some of the trickier material (pensions!). Even if I didn't pass, I left the exam knowing that I CAN pass.

    FAR - 87 2/18/14
    AUD - 84 4/2/14
    REG - 87 7/23/14
    BEC - 78 8/26/14

I'm finally an *official* CPA - TX
