Just received my NTS and I scheduled my FAR exam on Jan 2014. No clue if I’d be able to put enough study hours since, like most of the candidates, I am working full time. Any suggestions? Tips? Tricks? I am using CPAexcel by the way.

That is more than enough time to study. Even working full time, you should be able to get in the 120-150 hours per section in about 6-8 weeks.

I studied for an hour in the morning before work, on my lunchbreak a few days a week and about 2 hours on weeknights and 4 or so hours per day on Saturday and Sunday. (I was also finishing my M.S. and have 2 kids). That worked out to 20 hours a week of studying give or take.

    FAR- 77
    AUD -49, 71, 84
    REG -56,75!
    BEC -75

Massachusetts CPA (non reporting) since 3/12.

I am working 7 days a week. That's why i scheduled my exam in Jan and giving myself a three month period to study. Can you please tell me if NINJA Audio would be useful? What is included in that audio?

    Thanks for the reply.

That should give you plenty of time to study, as long as your schedule will be set up to give you a few 2-3hr study chunks. I also work full-time (but not every day) and I'm thinking of moving my test to November.

I get in an hour of studying most mornings (I take “off” Friday mornings and sleep in a little later), and try to get in 2-3hrs in the evenings. Some days work out better than others. I aim for 4-6hrs a day during the weekends. Or in CPAExcel terms – I can get through one module in the morning – sometimes 1.5. In the evenings I'm shooting for 2-2.5. Weekends I get through more, and work on extra practice questions. I don't study over lunch, because I take a 1/2 hour lunch. The thought process is that I get to leave work a 1/2 hour earlier (most days it works!) and then I can get home to take care of a couple things around the house before sitting down to study.

FAR - 73, rematch in early April
    AUD - 5/14
    REG - 8/14
    BEC - 11/14

That's what I was thinking, to study 2/3 hours in the evenings. Question: Can you move your test to an earlier date? For example If I feel like I am prepared for the exam in mid-nov and want to reschedule to the end of nov.
