I recently got accepted into an overseas job that I had applied and interviewed for.

I had e-mailed them a few times with questions and whatnot, and every time, they responded to my e-mail that was sent to my e-mail address. (i.e. I sent e-mail from Chris@yahoo.com and they responded re:chris@yahoo.com in the response address).

This last e-mail that came from them was in response to a (dummy-companyname-bounces@company.com (On Behalf of My Name).

I’m not sure what the heck happened there. What does this mean? Are they not interested in me anymore as an applicant? Thanks!

I didn't understand the situation … and i'm pretty sure u probably know what i'm about to say but i thought i'd share it anyways…

you can use a personal e-mail to “Send/receive email from other accounts” in this case it could have been a work HR person email.

the HR person might have replied using her e-mail … it will say: From recruiting_person_personal-email@yahoo.com on behalf of recruiting_person_work-email@companywebsite.com

if that was the case … he just replied from a different email .. Good luck ! 🙂 . what area of the world is it in ? only out of curiosity …

It's Japan actually. 🙂 I'm not exactly sure I understand the situation either. I can't really figure out how what occurred actually happened. Apparently, the e-mail I sent my e-mail to received that e-mail (the one I sent it to) and then sent out another e-mail to the exact same e-mail which was then replied to. Therefore, the origin of the e-mail was the dummy account that sent the e-mail I sent to that e-mail. It is confusing man!

I'm just worried because it's not in concrete yet. I don't have my VISA etc. Also, I've heard dummy accounts are used for e-mails people don't want and etc. Anyways, it bothered me enough to come here and ask. lol ^_^

I say you try it on one of your emails to understand what was going on … i had my hotmail e-mails sent to a gmail account once … try it and u will understand it 🙂 .

hopefully you will get the Job … while i hear that Japan is very expensive … I'm sure its very exciting ! 🙂
