    Congrats to everyone who have passed!

    I did pass all my exams on 06/07 and applied for my license and it seems the NH board is taking a while for my application (over 2 weeks).

    In the meantime (since last week) I was applying for some jobs and my target was big 4, Pwc did show initial interest last week but I haven’t got any interview calls yet and so far nothing from other 3. Even I applied in few corps but nothing so far.

    I had quit my job (small public practice) 7 months ago to give my exams, and that plan did work out for me.

    My question is, is it common for the big 4 to take time before they call up for an interview?

    I was also told by someone that I should wait till I get my CPA license before I look for job opportunities (my current resume says passed CPA exam, license pending). So should I wait for my license?

    I wouldn't wait. The longer your gap of unemployment, the more difficult it will be to get a job.

    Thanks for your help, but it seems that I have hardly got any interview calls for the jobs I have applied, if any one has applied in the big 4 what is the average response time before they call you up after having an initial interest status.

    Also if there are any NH applicants, what is the process time for your license from the day you applied ?

    I wouldn't hold out for the big 4. Odds are not in your favor; especially if you were not reffered and/or do not come from a large regional/midsized/big4 firm (assuming you're going for an experienced hire). With that said, it's only been 1 week. If (s)he truly expressed interest, there is hope yet.

    Passed CPA Exam” is descriptive enough I feel for big4 purposes.

    In the very least I'd keep on applying at other places while you wait. If you end up getting an interview that went well or an offer elsewhere, you can then always contact the PWC recruiter and let her/him know of your updated timeline if she's still interested in you as a candidate.

    I'd imagine recruiter's response would be a factor of many things – her interest in you, her schedule, the firm's current needs, interviewer availability, response time of potential interviewer, other job candidates…etc. It's hard to say what it is exactly.

    @amtryinforcpa

    Hi I am in a similar position as the one described above, I applied for a position with a inter-company reference from a senior consultant. I was flagged as “Initial Interest” by HR on 6/3/14, I was wondering if HR did end up contacting you, and if so how long it took? It is the summertime so I assume there is no immediate need for this position, so I do anticipate it taking sometime, but I am interested to hear the end of your job hunt story.

    Thanks
