it never fails…..

I have 5 days left to study for FAR. That might not seem like a lot. But I know that 5 days could and will be the difference between a 74 and a 75. Or possibly a 60 and a 75. Those last 5 days are when everything seems to come together.

But it never fails. Work becomes unmanageable – all projects that I thought I had a lot of time to do have to be done NOW. The kids start getting up at 5:45 when they normally get up at 7:30. The neighbor asks if we could watch their kids because of an emergency. The daycare provider has to cancel on me and I can’t go into work until 10:00 AM. More wasted time.

You know what this is called? Life. And I know that I can think of 8 years of excuses as to why I haven’t passed this exam (that’s how long I’ve been out of school). So this is why I need to pass FAR on Monday and put this test BEHIND me.

The irony of my subject is that this will always happen. There will always be something that seems better or more important to do than study. People who work 60 hours a week, have kids and are single parents can pass the CPA exam. So can all of us.

    REG - 80 (Becker only)
    BEC - 76 (Becker only)
    AUD - 71, 76 (Becker only)
FAR - 65, 74, 81! (Becker, Wiley Test Bank, Ninja notes & Audio)

    CPA Class of 2012 🙂

    I feel ya.

Each time I hold tow parts of this exam, I have immediate family members die. The first time, my wife's father, my wifes grandmother and my grandmother all within 6 days of each other.

This time, my mother a month and a half before my REG exam. Not to mention that I work for a healthcare company and am nose deep in the rebate check process while we wait (and hope) that the SCOTUS will give this horrible law a smackdown.

Be flexible, find new times to study. Ask for help. Order a pizza instead of cooking.

Hang in there….it is definitely life.

    CPAPending.
