I am one of those that thought I would never pass this exam. I first started taking it back in 1995 under the old system, given twice a year and where you had to pass at least two sections at first in order to not have to take them again. If you passed one part, you received no credit & had to take all 4 parts again. There were also no scores between 70-74. If your score fell in that range, it was re-graded either up to a 75 (pass) or down to a 69 (fail). I took that test 4 times over two years, each time receiving 75-69-69-69, passing once each for all four of the parts. I had technically passed all parts of the CPA exam but had no credit. Thoroughly disgusted, I stopped trying thinking I would get back to it soon & that it really wasnt needed since my boss had only a bachelors degree making a great salary & I was the heir-apparent to his job. Wrong on both accounts big time. Finally years later after being passed over since I didnt have a CPA degree, I knew I had to take it for the time when my current boss retires. Took awhile just to take that first test. Couldnt stand the thought of having to study again. Finally did & after that first test took the next testing window off but then it was all exam all the time. Never more than a few days ever went by without me thinking of the CPA designation since high school. Now barring any unforeseen disasters, I should have that big certificate on the wall soon.
I cant count how many points are directly related to this site. From questions others asked that made me realize that I needed to review that section also to simple hints of time management that I would not have known for certain sections, I have no doubt it made the difference. This exam can be conquered. The support here and a family who is behind you will get you through it. This test is a bitch on many different levels, no other way to put it. It can be done.
To Jeff and all who participate on this forum: Thank you!
