Is there any truth to this – ANYONE

Just got a call from an excoworker and she said “well if you have not received your FAR score last Wednesday (when everyone else got it), it probably means you are on the boarderline of pass/fail. Last time that happened to me I received a 74 on FAR and received my score a week after everyone on the boards.” Someone please let me know if there is any truth to this. We are in NY, and I still have yet to date received a score for Financial. Thanks in advance.

I saw where someone else said this same thing in the beginning of the score release forum when all scores started to be released. How true it is, I don't know. I honestly hope it is not true because that gives me even more anxiety (as if waiting on the score is not enough) to sit here and think I may have failed which also means I lose a credit on another exam.

I don't believe that is the case. All scores were released from the AICPA at the same time. AICPA is responsible for grading not NASBA. That usually occurs when scores are released from a section then later they release a smaller batch of that same section. There will be borderline scores, highscores, and fails released.

Mike, thanks for the response and the hope for all of us. I feel like there is a very small population (at least on these boards) who are waiting for scores in CA, and me who seems to be the only one waiting for a score in NY. Thanks again guys.

The optimist in me does not believe that statement. There are way too many other factors at play this window.

Probably Couldn't and Wouldn't Want To Pass Again!!

I think you are wrong. There have been a few people who posted on this board getting 74s and 75s. Like why keep you in agony? Someone mentioned on the other board there was some corrupted files that they had to redo or something.

Hey you guys..sad to say but this comment is TRUE..A Becker instructor explained this process to me..when you are borderline the examiners review your simulation material again. To make sure that the borderline score is accurate..This actually occurred with me for FAR.. I hope you all are just outliers and not in this bucket:>

This window's 2nd wave is entirely screwy. All the scores were released for a section at once. It is some states that are having odd release time frames still.

So who knows. But yes that was generally the case that borderline scores were released later. Generally…and usually the case.

    FAR 92 - AUD 91 - REG 94 - BEC 86

If that is true then why is there 73-74 scores released with each intial release?

good question Mike01 – who really knows what the AICPA does with their grading haha.

Because we aren't making absolutes. It was the case generally that late scores were borderline. That does not preclude ‘earlier' scores from being non-passing and borderline.

I could believe this for being pushed in wave 2 from wave 1. But not within the week of score release. Seriously, you think they are regrading your exam within the 2 days you are waiting.. no. The scores are done. They had been released, it's just a timing issue to upload the scores and of course this release was very screwey.

So only some borderline scores get a another evaluation. Why not look at all of them again? Shouldn't every 74 be given that oppurtunity.

The short answer to the initial question is: “It depends.”

I think there could be several reasons for a delayed score: a new simulation, an additional review of the WC part, or it could be a borderline score.

At least, it happened to me during the previous July-Aug. testing window: there was Wave 1 (at the end of August), then Wave 2 (around 24-25th of September), then Wave 2.5 (3 days later, Sept. 27-28) and then, there was even a Wave 3 release (I think it was the new sims). My score was a borderline one (a ‘sweet' 74) , received with the Wave 2.5.

So, you never know for sure why some scores are delayed. I remember people posting scores above 85, that were also delayed. Thus, pray and keep the hopes high!

    DONE!

I am telling you from my experience. When I received my 75 for FAR, everyone else got their scores. I was among the last few. So the borderline theory is definitely legit. I got 76 for Audit, again, I got my score after every body,

When I got my REG 88, I got it on the day NASBA said they released the score.

    BEC - May 8, 2010 - 83
    FAR - July 20, 2010 - 75
    AUD - Aug 27, 2010 - 76
    REG - Nov 20, 2010 - 88 ALL DONE!!!
