I have the whole July and August to study for FAR,

but I’m working full time right now, although summer hour only require me to work 4 days a week.

Each day after work I can get about good 4 hours of study.

Friday and the weekend each day I can get about 8 hours.

So that’s about 40 hours a week, and 320 hours for 2 months.

Is enough time to prepare for FAR?? This would be my first attempt, and I know FAR is the hardest and has the most materials.

FAR - 9/8/16 (Hopefully it's my last CPA exam, God bless me!)
    REG - 80
    BEC - 81
    AUD - 69, 81

Ag12thman – Yes I follow the same schedule for each section. Watch the lecture, hand type notes, reread notes and chapter, take MC, reread notes, and finish any incorrect MC.

@Dee and anyone else – thought I'd share my tips learned while crash studying for FAR. I hope they are useful.

    1. I used Roger, which has about 30 chapters. My goal was to hit 3 chapters a day, with MCQ quiz before moving onto the next set. I was able to keep this pace pretty well, but slowed down and spent entire days on GVT, NP, and Bonds because I was very lost.
    2. Use the AICPA's Content Specific Outline. I knew my schedule meant every hour counted, so I didn't want to waste it drilling lightly tested topics. For government, NP, and bonds – I saw they were heavily weighted in the outline. There were some topics that I was equally lost on, but decided to move on based on their low percentage in the outline.
    3. Use the AICPA released questions from the last 1-2 years. It's not great for a test bank, but it gives you a good idea as to what is considered a moderale vs difficult question.
    4. AL, AL, AL, and AL. I spent 4-5 days reviewing, with one day entirely spent on looking at the AL. There are so many points buried for SIMS, but you have to know where to find them. The implementation sections are very helpful for JE examples.
    5. MCQ's: the explanations are more important than the answer. I thought Roger did a very good job with his explanations. I really didn't focus on quantity as long as I was scoring 65-70ish. I had to force myself to slow down and read the explanations, as that's when things started to click. I only did around 750 MCQ's for FAR (very little repeats).
    6. Take the AICPA practice test – especially if FAR is your first exam. It's not very many questions but lets you practice on the exact software you will be using at Prometric
    7. MCQ's – no flagging answers. I'm a quick test taker, but one thing I figured out is I saved time during practice tests by never flagging answers. I think that's where alot of time gets wasted. I'd read each one twice, then pick the best answer and move on. I think people spend more time going back to flagged questions because they have to remind themselves what the question is about, since they are going back at the end of a testlet.

    Jack,

Even if you didn’t work full time, the max you can study day-in and day-out is probably only 5-6 hoursa day of quality studying.
Studying 8 hours a day might be a bit much on the weekends. Also, if the material is review, that should help out in cutting down study hours. However, if have not seen the majority of the material and you are using a program like Becker, it will be a little tight.

If you are single and can grind away at your own pace you can probably do it. What happened with AUD?

    REG Aug 20/15: 88
    AUD: Feb 29/16: 80
    FAR: Jun 10/16: 80
