I took FAR (my first CPA test ever) and limited myself to 1 minute per question, I felt that if I didn’t know it after 1 minute, I would take my best guess and move on in order to have more time for the SIMS, expecting the SIMS to be terrible like everyone is saying. I didn’t feel like any of the questions were very long/time consuming to read, so I’m thinking that I got all medium to easy test lets. Anyway, I finished the sims with an hour left and wasn’t sure what to do after looking over the sims, which I think I only didn’t get at least a majority of credit on 2 of them. I wasn’t testing ridiculously high on the becker MCQ’s so I doubt it was so fast because I knew everything. Has anyone experienced this? I feel like this all adds up to a failing score.

i had an hour left after all my tests except BEC which i almost ran out of time on. yikes. i think you are fine though. i was worried too… but i got a 76 on FAR. i don't think there is any correlation with how you did on the test and how you felt after.

if you did OK on your sims and excellent on MCQs, then you still have a chance.

if you have to retake (which i hope you don't have to), don't blow off the first testlet, the first testlet is very important in my opinion. For my BEC I scored pretty decent on it and the thing that I did was spending 45 minutes for testlet one.

I closed out my tests with the following time still remaining:

FAR – 1 minute

AUD – 100 minutes

REG – 50 minutes

BEC – 50 minutes

I am still trying to figure out why FAR took me so much longer than the others. I remember having a lot of calculations and I think I spent a lot of time with the SIMS. My SIMS were out to left field so I really tried to grind out as many points as I could on the SIMS.

In general, I dont think that when you finish has too much bearing on how you do on the exam (unless you walk out half way through, lol).

Don't worry, I finished both FAR & AUD with 2 hours to spare. As for testlets, try not to overthink it because it is tough to tell what the AICPA deems a difficult question.

Do you guys want to hear something silly? I'm actually one of the few people on this planet that almost ran out of time when taking AUD. I literally had to rush through my last Sim because if I didn't, I wouldn't have finished on time. Yet, I still passed.

But I'm a “take your time” kinda guy. If I'm given 3-4 hours to take a test, I'm gonna use it!!! Yet, there are many people who can breeze through the testlets with lots of time to spare and do very well.

So, don't worry about how fast or slow you were on taking the test. If you got most of the answers right, you'll pass. Some people just work quicker than others.

I also completed first 3 testlets in 1.5 hours for FAR. So nothing to worry as I was also not scoring well in Becker.

I took BEC today and felt it was tough of all. I barely finished on time like kaaCPA
