    Hey everyone,

Is 5 weeks enough for FAR studying. I am using Becker. I am also fresh out of college and don’t start work til October. Therefore, I got some time on my hands. Any help is appreciated! With that being said, is 3 weeks enough to study BEC?

Big picture is that I was to try to pass both before the end of the testing window. I am taking audit on july 3 and then the plan is to study FAR for 5 weeks and test in early August then study BEC 3 weeks and test on the last day in august. Can it be done studying full time? thanks a bunch!

    AUD - passed
    FAR - 8/29
    REG -
    BEC -

I did it in 5 weeks. I did about 2 and a half lessons a week and just reviewed with that extra bit of free time.

It doesn't seem impossible if you don't have a job. But I wouldn't count on it. It depends on your ability to absorb and remember a massive amount of information. Try be be flexible and allow yourself to reschedule if you don't feel ready. Its not worth taking it more than once because you weren't willing to schedule it a couple weeks later.

So far I would say audit is the “easiest.” I would judge FAR to be at least 3 times as difficult. Maybe that will help you gauge it. Maybe some other Ninja's will agree or disagree with me?

It can be done. Will it work for you? Depends on your study habits and how much time you can devote to studying.

I studied about five weeks for FAR, averaged about two Becker lessons a week. I half assed the last week of studying on account of being burned out, and I skimmed most of the Governmental and Non-For-Profit material as, unlike most young people fresh out of school, I had taken multiple governmental courses in undergrad/masters. I spent about 3-5 hours a day studying full time when I was really going at it.

I would also factor in other things like motivation, etc. For example, should you have a rough go at AUD, your motivation to study will be minimal. Also, in terms of difficulty, FAR is the one test not to be unprepared for, it will destroy you if you haven't prepared adequately. I personally thought the actual tests in general were less difficult than Becker's test material, but I've heard horror stories from friends who “skimmed/didn't really study” and then they bombed out on the test.

Remember, there's no substitute for hard work.

I passed FAR this last quarter studying full-time for 3.5 weeks using Becker, with 6 days of those days doing zero studying. It was exhausting, but doable. I received a 78 with a score report saying i did stronger in MC and weaker in sims.

Since your fresh out of college, BEC may be doable in 3 weeks if you were good in your finance, econ, and cost classes.

    good luck

BEC in three weeks is totally doable!! I have time off before starting work also, and spent 2 weeks studying every day (8ish hours) for BEC. As for FAR..well I take it soon and gave myself a full month to take all that information in, hope its enough time!

    Good luck!!
