As the title mentions, is 3 weeks too long for review? Im schedule to retake FAR OCT 10 and have already taken a PTO for it and Im not sure if 3 weeks is too much time? At the same time there are a bunch of personal matters going on so I don’t study too much on the weekends, let alone the weekdays with work.

Anyways, Im feelin much better this time around but my worry is I have to keep doing comprehensive problems to refresh and may do more harm as time goes on.. Any thoughts? Thanks

I also had some busy weekends and work full time, so I wanted to leave a good amount of review time for FAR. I took the test on the 8th and probably had about a week and a half of review time. I felt good about the test, but I wished I had had a couple extra days of review. I also had the benefit of labor day. So all in all, I'd say 2 weeks is probably ideal, but I don't think there's anything wrong with 3 weeks.

everybody is different. 3 weeks would definitely be too much for me.

judging by what you're saying, 3 weeks might be overkill for you as well. only you can know, but it seems like you're comfortable already, have taken PTO, and “it might do more harm than good.” you might just be ready!

I don't think it's too long especially since it's FAR. Huge amount of material and you should plan on days where you might not be able to get the planned study hours in due to X, Y, or Z reasons.

For review I just did the Ninja MCQs and Sims. I do about 200 MCQs per day. There are 1900 MCQs in Ninja, so that's about 10 days. Ninja Sims take 2 days. So about 12 days or so. I do the questions slowly, so that's basically 12 full days of studying. Maybe tack on another couple days for review of notes and journal entries.

circadian – 200 far questions is a monster! this other guy Just3letters did like 300 a day. do you work? i work FT and for FAR with so many calcs i can only break 120 or so if i mix it in with non heavy calc topics like NFP, intangibles, or Govt.

3 weeks is pretty hefty, since it's not your first time as I recall? I mean, you could do 200 a day, but I die at 180. Also, quality over quantity. Look at your stats and see where you need to review first. I went over the FAR material once to learn, then I reviewed by rewriting my notes another time. Something another NINJA did that I did, TOTALLY helped. The last week before the exam, I literally did 30 questions from each chapter and with Roger's that's 30 chapters, and tried to brush up on ANY areas that I missed. The last 2 days before the exam, I did 5-10 questions for each chapter again, completely random.

    Hope this helps.

hasy – did you use Roger solely for FAR and passed? I think his IPQ software sucks but the questions themselves were true to the exam. What do you think?

No, I'm not working. If I was working, I'd only be able to do 50 questions after work probably. Work sucks the life out of me. I'm a pansy.

I don't like to mix topics up. One day I would only do government accounting and another day I would only do inventory and bonds. I feel that I learn more by doing many questions on the same topic one right after another. If I mixed things up, my brain would not have absorbed the material as well.

I took very little in the way of notes. There is just too much crap in FAR to write down. It was so overwhelming.

Not solely, his old software was lacking but his new questions are awesome. Maybe not the user interface, it is quite shitty. I hate it. But I never do only 1 testbank (not that genius). For FAR, I used Roger and NINJA mainly. HOWEVER, I did do like 200 mcqs from Wiley. I actually don't like Wiley questions too much since they're worded so weirdly. I got an 83. Also practice SIMs people, I don't care what people say how DIFFERENT they are, they help a lot.

I definitely do not think it is too long.

Personally, I like to overprepare because that one extra week is worth it if it saves me an extra couple weeks to re-study and then even more time to find out those results.

I have reviewed for 2.5-3 weeks for all of my tests, and so far that method hasn't failed me!

I appreciate the responses, guys! I guess I will stick with the date since it is already set. You are right Claudia I didnt get to study tonight because I was just so tired after work. Should be a productive weekend!

It's great to hear from some familiar users! I hope all is well with your guys' studies. @Claudia, which part you doing now? I still got REG to prep for after FAR. Then AUD to kill at the end 🙁 ugh. Been at this for 7 months and having only 1 part down feels discouraging.

Spartans – I just took FAR last week and I feel like I have a chance to pass if I'm lucky, but realistically I think my score will be 65-70. So I'm just taking the 11 days off before restudying for FAR and will plan to take it again towards the end of October. After that I have 4 weeks til I tackle Reg for the 4th time! FML!!!

I took about 3 weeks to review for REG (I passed ). I did the MCQ over and over and over again until I got to the point where I knew the answer and why it was the correct answer before even looking at the answer choices.
