In a FAR bind, need advice

    I took FAR in August 2011 and got a 64. I just found out I passed REG and have only FAR left. Only problem is Audit expires in May 2012 and my work schedule gets crazy in January that I won’t be able to commit to more than a few hours of study time a week until April.

    Do I try to go for a 3 week cram session and take FAR in early January? Or should I just wait until May to take it after work becomes less hectic? I feel compelled to take it in January, even if I only have 3 weeks to study so my back isn’t up against the wall in May. Thoughts?

    Cram. Analyze where you were weakest, put together a short study plan, and sacrifice your weekends/evenings. If you're this far, I wouldn't stop.

    I would cram and take it in January. That way, if (worst case scenario!) you miss the 75 again, you'll still have a chance to attack it in April/May – although I hope you beat FAR on your next attempt! Best of luck to you!!!

    Don't wait until May. If you fail in May, you lose Audit.

    If you study really hard you could probably manage FAR in a few weeks. Be sure to rework all the materials until you can recall the rules and methods for all the major transactions and topics. The toughest part of FAR is keeping everything straight. I have pretty good memory, so reading over things several times is more than enough for me; judge your own abilities, and go from there. Few of the topics are truly difficult, it's all about how much you can keep separate in your mind. Good luck!
