I'm so happy…… (great study tip)

Those of you who have been reading my posts have heard of my hard wooden chair technique for staying awake. Study at the kitchen table in a hard wooden chair, no problems staying awake. But I did find that it limited my study tenure and was hurting my back.

The library is only open part time, as a middle finger salute from our county commissioners for not letting them raise taxes 30%.

I was really struggling to find a place to study.

My wife receives the credit. She was trying to find a place to put my music stand (I’m learning guitar–or was before all this cpa studying started). Then it hit me. I grabbed it, ran up stairs and sat in my recliner. I put the stand right beside my chair and the book in the stand. My laptop stand in my lap puts my notes at the right height and I can move the music stand back and forth to accommodate my vision and changing light. If my neck gets tired of the book on the left, change it to the right.

Voila. No more back pain, comfort, longer study times. One happy camper. It is surprisingly comfortable.

My challenge isn't staying awake but rather staying focused and not roofing off.

I have a pretty good drive going…..I'm very very tired and ready for my break after the 2/27 exam (two weeks from today, wooo hooo). But I am pushing on. Ready to start my review so that no new information will be packed in and I can start to remember items that I feel like I studied 6 months ago….it was only 3 weeks ago! 😀

I'm progressing on track with my study plan but was having trouble (especially since I have a desk job all day also) sitting so much. The hard wood chair was keeping me awake but I was in such pain that I couldn't have long study periods. I was able to go about an hour and then ended up finding something else to do for far too long. The music stand has been a Godsend.

I keep reminding myself that the difference between passing and failing lies in what I do between today and 2/27. That spurs me on.
