Well, over the last few tests I have scored stronger on MCQ’s and weaker on SIMs, landing me in that 70-75 zone that everyone loves to hate. I use the authoritative literature and prepare for the SIMS by working many, many MCQ’s; this leads me to a question – does anyone know of a way to effectively tackle these things other than just pounding multiple choice and utilizing authoritative lit? I try to make myself as prepared as I can possibly be going into the test, but man, these SIMS are killing me.

Solving tons and tons of multiple choice questions is not the way I would go about preparing for SIMS. I busted out a notebook, pencil and calculator and wrote the question in number format (with dates, etc) and made sure I could do that calculations by hand and then transfer that to the answer area in the testlet–this made a world of difference for me.

The instructors always say that if you know the material you can answer any sim. I've had exams where I scored well on sims and not as well on MCQ. Recently it was the opposite. I would continue to study thoroughly and allow yourself enough time to finish the sims. I know people who passed the exam and never did any practice sims beforehand. Maybe you are going too fast through the sims on the exam and missing something in the question. Slow down a bit and read the question to determine what they want you to answer. Best of luck to you!

same here jsblamer – in my score report , I was always weaker in sims but on other hand comparative and stronger in MCqs in Audit…

So this time i changed my approach , I made sure i had 2 hours for sims and especially inAudit if i think more and read question over and over , i make more mistakes, so this time—->>>>>

i did less thinking and more reading and finding answers from aut litrature. I dint do well in mcqs because my 3 testelts were super easy , i must have messed up in mcqs.

make sure leave enough time for sims and try to find answers from aut lit…

    good luck
