If I don't feel fully prepared should I postpone FAR?

At this point I have studied a lot but I don’t feel like I am ready to take the exam. Every time I get to a Progress Test, I don’t perform well. I have covered all the topics but just not performing as well as I think I should be. I am at a cross point right now…should I pay the fee to postpone my Friday test to the first of July or should I take it on my Friday to the best of my ability? I am at a loss right now. I changed my study method too many times during my studies (with this being my first test). I am really frustrated with the amount of time I have put in and don’t seem like I am in a good place to take the exam. What to do?

    FAR - JULY 2014 - PASSED
    BEC - MAY 2015 - PASSED
    REG - AUG 2015 - PASSED
    AUD - AUG 31 2015

How much of a risk-taker are you? If you don't mind potentially having to re-pay for the exam (aka if you're willing to risk a few hundred dollars), then taking it Friday would give you the chance of passing without having to put in more studying (besides this week), and having to re-take it the start of July wouldn't put you any later than if you just re-scheduled to July. However, if you don't want to risk the few hundred dollars, then re-scheduling it is the safer option.

It's hard for me to know if you're ready or not, since I don't know what you've done to study so far or what your definition of not performing well on Progress Tests is. Some people would say that if they scored 90; others if they scored 50.

I'm a cheapskate, so I'd probably reschedule because I wouldn't want to risk the money. However, there's something to be said for getting the exam experience and potentially saving a month of studying, so I'm not sure which option would be better for you!

I'm scoring an average of 65 on all of my MCQ sessions. My exam is Thursday and i'm studying all day today through Wednesday and going for it Thursday. I did not feel very confident for REG or BEC and passed both of those. I do wish I was averaging more like 75-80 at this point but i'm hoping to improve a little in the next couple days. Good luck!

Hi! ^^^ I am with ya'll totally. But I feel like I have put too much time into this not to know where I stand at least. Plus I need a week or so off or I might go crazy.

    AUD - 73,91
    FAR - 79 - Thank you God!
    BEC - 73,79!!!!

I have stopped doing progress tests, and I honestly don't think that is how I learn the best. Plus is makes my confidence go way down and I don't need that right now!

I think if you've gone through all materials and mc and sims, and feel that you have a good manage of the topics, you should go ahead and take the test. It really depends on how you feel.

It's hard to be confident going into any of these exams, especially FAR. Netting out the reschedule fee versus the exam fee what are you paying about $180? If that's not too big of a hit on your pocket book then go for the exam and hope you get a favorable set of questions on your stronger areas.

Mentally, I'd still make sure you're ready to go in and battle, take it seriously, and not as if it's just a wing and a prayer effort. Taking it at the end of the window never hurts. If it was at the very beginning which would prohibit you from taking it again in a month then I'd say wait.
