I think I'm done…

    Having done two simulated exams today, I think I’m done. I might look over my notes again later tonight and MAYBE do a progress test/quiz and look over my notes tomorrow, but this is as good as it gets, I’m afraid.

    I’ve been relatively strong on the sims in my simulated exams, except for those areas in which I will always suck come hell or high water (read: foreign currency exchange). For those in the early stages, make sure you read Becker’s explanations when you’re done with a sim–often you will have something right that they marked wrong for some inexplicable reason. My MCQ scores on each testlet have ranged significantly…I’ve gotten some in the 60’s, some in the 70’s, and some in the 80’s. I don’t think my MCQ scores are too hot but at the same time I also think it is what it is. Lord only knows what I’m going to get hit with tomorrow, and I think I have saved myself as much as I probably can at this point.

    After all the hours I have put into this thing–almost an entire summer’s worth–I better not fail. Otherwise it will all be time wasted.

    When I saw the title I thought at first that you had given up on the Exam and quit altogether. lol. Remember, though, if you happen to fail that it was not a total waste of time. You'll have to put significantly less time in to studying the second time around and you'll probably know the material better than those who pass on the first try. Go into the test tomorrow with a positive attitude. The test is flat out hard, but you have to expect that. DONT FREAK OUT!!! Especially with the SIMS. Just take a breath and work through each of the SIMS and fill out as much as you can. Make sure you leave a solid 1.5 hours for the SIMS. Good luck!!

    Thanks! I actually love simulations–always have preferred to do problems out in a fill-in-the-blank type scenario instead of MCQ.

    @jimboace88 you might not be saying that after your test! lol. Don't pull a peanut and freak out once you get to the FAR sims and walk out like a coward, k?

    I agree with Peanut. You won't be saying you love the SIMS after you take the test. LOL I took FAR last Sunday and I swear those SIMS were like nothing I had seen with the Wiley software. If I fail the exam it will probably be because of the SIMS. ugh

    @jimbo,

    I haven't taken FAR yet, but I can tell you that the REG & AUD sims were NOTHING like Becker's. Prepare to be hit with very long and confusing instructions that are so unclear at times that you have no idea what they are even asking you to do. I'm not exaggerating. I speak English very well, and for the life of me I couldn't understand the instructions on several sims because they were so poorly worded. Sims can also be challenging because only so much information fits on the screen at once, so you end up having to do quite a bit of scrolling. Don't expect to see check-the-box type questions or drop down answers. It's likely that you really will end up with a blank to fill in. Just do like Mini said and fill in what you can. Seriously, the sims are way, way, way harder than Becker's. You may be tempted to walk out once you see how bad some of the sims are, but just power through them. I'm not trying to scare you, I just don't want you to be too shocked when you see those suckers. Good luck!

    @jimboace88 & @WhyMe23,

    Good luck tomorrow! Post your after exam emotions. Just remember no one ever feels like they nailed the sims. Just hope you are on the passing side of the curve.
