I took the test today ..literally just got home

first testlet- took 40 mins and felt that I did well. The ones i didnt know i had down to 2 answers

2nd testlet- took 55 mins and felt they were harder. But again i felt strong

3rd testlet – Took 55 mins- felt they were hard but not as hard as the 2nd testlet.

I felt collectively, they I had to score in the 85%-92% range in Mult Choice.

However, for the simulations. I felt they were impossible. I felt the one I mastered. and the other 5 were hard and didnt finish up any in their entirety. They were very tricky.

What are chances I could have passed if i didnt complete the simulations?

How do they grade the simulations? Can you get zeros? Are all of them weighted the same??

It sounds like you did great on the MCQs. When I passed FAR, I couldn't tell if the MCQs were getting harder, they all seemed the same and I ended up doing well. Soooo if you felt like you nailed them AND they got harder, you should be in good shape. The sims on the other hand may be cause for concern. A good strategy I heard and use is that you always fill in the cells no matter what. Even if it's a zero. If you're running out of time, you might as well put something cause it's not like you'll get it wrong. I've also heard of people not completing an entire sim and still passing but that's cause they lucked out and that was the pre-test sim. Your MCQ scores will be strong and may be enough to pull off not finishing the sims.

I agree with JJM it sounds like you did pretty good on your MCQ's but it's the SIMS that you may have to worry about. I know when I took FAR I didn't leave anything blank for the SIMS but I also didn't feel like I got any of them besides the research tab and one other SIM correct… the rest were up in the air guesses and using the authoritative literature to hopefully help me complete them… so really you won't know until score time comes out! But sounds like you have a pretty decent shot, just those SIMS might skew your score the wrong way. Here's to hoping!

Realestatewhiz, what materials did you use to study? Clearly if you think you did well on the MCQs, you must have gone through a ton of them! Personally, I feel like going through MCQs are a better way to learn the material.

Accountaholic…I would suggest Becker Final Review if you have the means. I relied on that heavily with all my sections. I would read every page of the becker study guide and watch all the lectures. Then I would read the Final Review booklet constantly. It summarized all the important topics and cut down on the fluff/filler info in the regular becker book. Also Wiley test bank is a must too. And I did like NINJA notes as well. The more resources the better.

@accountaholic – i used becker ..did terrible on the passmaster questions the first time around..did all questions except the supplemental and only did some of them. i wound up trying to study what questions i got wrong and the reasons why.time consuming but very helpful with tricky topics. those topics were – pensions, governmental, bonds, cash flow, etc…
