I just finished watching all the lectures for FAR from Yaeger. I’ve also read the book and taken a lot of notes, but when I start doing the Wiley test bank questions, it’s making me seem like I’ve learned nothing. There are some questions that I understand have familiar with because I have seen it during lectures and read it off the book. While at other times, I have no idea where they are coming up with the questions. Seem like they want to test every single little detail.

Am I doing something wrong here or is this just the normal process…?

I'm only doing MCQs right now also too. I haven't even looked at the simulations yet. My head will probably explode when I see them…

I don't know about the other review courses, but Becker definitely does teach you through the MCQ's.

Meaning, there will be questions on stuff they didn't go into in the lecture/book. Part of the review course is doing the multiple choice questions and reading the solutions. Between the book, lecture, and MC solutions, they cover basically everything you need to know. JUSt because you understand the book 100% does not mean you will be able to pass the hmwrk 100%.

Other courses are probably similar. Now if its your 2nd time going through the homework and your scores are just as bad – that's a warning sign.

Although I do agree that knowing the material well helps. FAR is actually the first test in which I am actually testing well on most the homework 1st time through (wasn't the case for REG and BEC – except for B2). But I think this is likely due to me having a good understanding of the material from my college coursework and many of the questions being pretty basic.

    REG - Passed!!
    BEC - Passed
    FAR - Passed
    AUD - Passed

I'm using Becker as well. I think for the most part you can learn what you need to know from the book before doing the homework. Of course, there are always a few questions that are not covered. I never claimed you can get a 100 from just knowing the book. Unless you specifically memorize/remember the questions, you also probably can't get a 100 from learning from the multiple choice either, so that's clearly an unreasonable standard. However, by knowing/understanding the material in the book before starting the MCQ, you can easily score in the 90s (for everything except FAR – I don't know about audit).

Even though I spent so much time studying, my application hasn't even been approved yet. How long does it take for them to process the application? I think I'm on week 5.
