To this day, FAR has been the biggest roadblock to my goal of being a CPA. I have currently passed BEC and am awaiting my score for REG. I don’t want to leave FAR for last so that is why I am preparing for it next instead of AUD. But there is a lot of material for FAR. Last time, I mainly used CPAexcel with Wiley Test Bank, and honestly, my previous attempt was half-hearted. Now, I am adding Ninja Notes and Ninja Audio, and plan to make and review flashcards as well. I am actually looking forward to see how this turns out, because if a half-hearted attempt can get a 60, then let’s find what I am capable of now that I’m zeroing in on my target.

Determined_To_Succeed, do not say that you cannot do this!!! Having a positive outlook is so important to success. If you have that attitude, I think that it will make it impossible to pass FAR.

    FAR 12/3/14, 87
    AUD 2/3/14, 90
    BEC 4/1/14, 88
    REG 5/27/14, 94

There you go! You are half way there. Now, you just need to figure out how you learn best. Since the material is difficult, that becomes even more important. I know that I learn nothing by listening to audio or lectures, so I have not even bothered to listen to Ninja audio (sorry, Jeff), or sign up for a review course that is based on video lectures. I learn by doing, so I have answered THOUSANDS of MCQs and worked tons of SIMS in the 3 exams that I have taken. I am on my last section, and just thinking about being finished motivates me to study when I think about doing something else. You have to want it!!! No more half-hearted attempts!

Thanks. I plan to focus on CPAexcel MCQ and lectures from now until 6-6-14. Also, I plan to go through the Ninja Notes and Audio each weekend during this time period. Once I'm done covering the material in CPAexcel, then I plan to do a couple of sessions of MCQ in Wiley Test Bank and look at the percentages to see what my weak areas are, and then go over the MCQ and make flashcards for those particular areas. And in the final couple of weeks, I plan to just go over flashcards, simulations, and MCQ. This is what got me a pass in BEC. I had to make modifications to this plan for REG cause there was just so much material, and I am anxious to see what my score is. But due to the sheer volume of material in FAR as well, I may have to also make changes to this plan. But hopefully not by too much, cause this has worked for me so far.
